Hi Everyone,

I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I am down 55 lbs now! Yeah! But, I did hit a 4 month weight loss plateau I did not lose any weight for 4 whole months and did have two fills during that time. My last fill was on 9/14/09 and I believe that this fill I may finally be at the "sweet spot" I was starting to think that was just a myth the sweet spot but I do believe I am there now. I am closer to being under 200 lbs than I have been in 4 years! I just pray that I can keep it up. I am also walking/running I have never been a runner but I am competing next Satuday in a 5k for a dear fried that lost her sister to cancer. My goal is to run 80% of the race - I think I can do it!

I have to be honest I thought at 9 months out from the date of my surgery that I would be further along with my weight loss but I have learned to accept it as it comes. My body seems to be a "chunker" meaning I lose weight in chunks. I wanted everyone else to update with their celebrations and challenges because we are all in this together!

Hi Angie,

I haven't checked the thread in quite sometime, but I see that your post is fairly recent. I am glad there are other December 2008 bandsters are still active. Your weight loss is great! Right on track according to everything I have been told. Keep up the good work.

Like you I also had about a 4 month period when I wasn't losing any weight, but when I started walking then running my weight loss started up again. I am down 51 pounds as of this morning. Yipee! I hope to lose about 15 more before one year anniversary, December 10th. Though I have been noticing my decreasing weight for sometime now, my body is finally showing the loss, I have a bit more to lose than you and people are noticing who didn't know that I had surgery.

I hope others will login and leave some encouraging results since their surgeries.

Best wishes.

Fran

I also had a 4 month plateau and it wasn't until my last fill on 9/7 that the scale finally started moving again and I think I've reached my sweet spot, too. I'm down 46 lbs, but now I'm believing again I can actually reach goal someday... after such a long plateau I started to think this wasn't going to work. I'm glad you're doing well and God bless you on your journeys!

Angie,

You've done well, good job! It took me a long time to reach my "sweet spot", too, and now I am just slowly losing weight. The good things for me:

(1) I'm no longer focused on eating or dieting;

(2) I'm no longer dieting!

(3) I am not gaining weight!

I couldn't be happier! I know I can lose my extra weight if I really put my mind to it, on the other hand, at this point I'm just overjoyed that I don't have to focus on food (or try to not focus on being hungry all the time) so I consider it a great success. At my current weight I am so much happier with myself and can move so much easier.

I'm doing great--I hit Onederland today! It seemed like I had a slow start to all of this, and only hit my sweet spot in June. But things have been pretty smooth sailing since then! 39 pounds till goal! Well, my first goal; I'd like to lose more than that, but we'll see.

Glad to see other December people on here! Keep up the good work!

everyone is doing so well! I had surgery on 12/12/08 and I can't believe it but on 10/13/09 I hit goal! It's not an easy road but it was well worth it. It's so nice not having to worry about all those little things like fitting into chairs or always thinking about food.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
