What Kind of Vitamins do you take?

Recommended Posts

I take the Bariatric Advantage vits too. berry flavored. I don't usually chew them, just dissolve them in my mouth. I also use their chocolate calcium citrate lozenges because the citrate is supposed to be better absorbed than the caltrate that is in the yummy Viactiv chews.

I use Vitaband from bariatricadvantage.com, they have 3 flavors, and if you call them, they will send you a free sample pack so you can try each flavor. If you can't handle chewables, they also sell some small capsules that should go through your band easier. I think that they are made for RNY patients, but I'm sure its similar.

Wow thx for the info!

I just called & was told they also send samples of other items that may be of use for free.

Good info!

My doc asks that we take:

B12 for energy-- I do the sublinguals

Multivitamin-- he prescribed a chewable prenatal to start with (it is nasty, but I'm getting used to it) and I bought Centrum chewables to follow up with. They did say Flintstones were fine too.

Calcium Citrate-- Tums chewables

Calcium Carbonate-- Caltrate + D petites

Biotin for hair loss-- I use the Spring Valley capsules, because they pull apart and you can sprinkle the powder in your food-- it has no taste that I can detect.

I use a bariatric multi my doctor's office sells--because my FSA reimburses me. I've also used Bariatric Advantage, and like them.

In addition, I take Biotin, Co Q-10 (at my surgeon's recommendation), Vitamin D, Omega oils, and zinc.

I take a Target brand prenatal Vitamin (not pregnant) and a Citrical petite.

How small are the Citrical Petites? I looked at them but wasn't sure. I was told not to take anything bigger than an M&M. The Calcium chewables are expensive.

Has anyone tried vitamist Vitamins? They come in spray tubes. My mother used to sell them years ago and they are still around (vitamist.com) you can order them without a consultant now I believe. But I am hoping to have surgery early next year and am hoping to be able to take those. I am alergic to red dyes therefore some Vitamin chewies are not a possibility for me. I am also having a hard time finding a Protein Water that does not contain red dyes.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
