I know. I've really been mentally preparing myself for the future changes, but I believe in the end it will all be worth it! I'm also in the Dallas area. I live in Garland, surgery with Dr.Benavides in Richardson.

Good luck and lets stay positive and do our best! We will make it happen!!!:tongue2:

WOW!!! Good luck, I've heard he is a very good surgeon. We are going to be just fine!!

Does he put some Fluid in yours during surgery? I found out yesterday Dr.B does..I wonder if this will make a big difference and make the liquid follow up diet easier since I will have restriction...

MrsG, I really don't know if he does that or not. I have been on a semi-liquid diet for 2 weeks. One small low-fat meal a day allowed. For some reason today has been the hardest diet day thus far.

What pre-op plan did you follow.

I like that ticker icon in your posts. I should maybe find one for me too.. for all the weight I am going to lose....I hope.

I've been on high Protein, 2 Protein Shakes and 2 small meals per day. And I agree with you, for some reason my shakes have been giving me the blues today!! :tongue2:

Go to www.tickerfactory.com, there are so many different styles to choose from. And you will lose it! We both will. We just have to stay motivated and make good choices!!!

WE CAN DO IT!!:)

Howdy - I was just banded last Monday, the 14th and it was a piece of cake! Easy! I have taken absolutely zero pain meds and am sitting in my office right now as I type.

surgery was at 8am and I was home by 1pm - walking around the house. The following day was the worst day for pain (the port site is really sore because of the muscle) Oh, but i was still walking around - went shopping - all that so it was completely barable. Every day after that is better.

I feel great and NOT HUNGRY!

Both of you will do fine and please - stick with feeling excited!

We can keep each other motivated! We will do this!! No turning back now. And I know we both want maximum results and that's what we are going to get.

Desperate1- Thanks for those words and insight on your band experience. It helps. :tongue2:

Good luck to both of you. Nervousness, and excitement are very normal. Up until the day of surgery I questioned if I was doing the right thing. I'm am so thankful that I had the surgery.

I had my surgery on June 15 at 10:00 AM, was discharged at 4:00 PM off work for 1 week, and do not regret it one bit.

Keep us posted.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
