I'm scared to death one minute & then happy the next. My heads playing games right now. Want to run & hide. But its took to all to get here. 6 months just for the dr. app. Then waiting for the surgery date. & all the pre-test. Plus the paper work. No turning back, just got to keep running forward. Wish me luck.:cry

Don't be nervous...although it is perfectly normal to feel that way...

I was just banded on Wednesday November 5th...I was excited up until I saw my surgeon in the surgical holding room that morning...before I new it, it was over and I've already lost 10.5 lbs...

Let me give you my advice...as soon as you can get up and walk around...you may shock the hell out of some nurses and it may hurt but it will make you feel better alot sooner (went shopping on Friday already...)

Second, don't be afraid to use your pain pump or liquid vicodin when you get home...it is there to make you feel better. Get out a heating pad to place on your tummy when you get home, invest in some gas-ex as you will be bloated with gas from surgery...it passes...I felt so miserable and like a bloated cow, especially the day after surgery...

Have all your after surgery supplies in order...water bottles to sip from, chewable Vitamins (Centrum are good!), Soup broths and cream Soups (Campbells Soup at hand is yummy), Jello made (I was making mine Thursday night) pudding, yogurt, protien powder bought (Carnation Instant Breakfeast sugar free is good too) and a half gallon of skim milk to add to the above to make runny.

Lastly, relax and realize it will all be over soon and the payoffs are far better than the two or three days you'll be down...I can honestly tell you I feel way better than I expected too at five days out...spent the day at my friends playing with her 3 year old on Saturday...

I had my gallbladder out laparscopically last November and this was a walk in the park compared to that!

If you get naseous from anesthesia let EVERYONE know so they can keep an eye on you and give you some good anti-nausea meds...

Good Luck...you'll do fine!

Hello everyone!

My surgery is on 17th exactly a week from today.

I am also feeling exactly the same thing you are all feeling .

What if I can't do it, what if I will be PB, what if I don't loose weight, what if what if. I drive myself crazy. As many of you said before one minute you are excited and the other minute depressed, sad, etc.

I consider myself a strong/positive and optimistic person but it is hard in this situation. I just wish they can nuck me off before I get in to the hospital!:D

I wish you all new November bandsters good luck and fast recovery! We CAN DO IT!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
