Any November 2009 Bandsters??

Hello all! I have an appointment Oct. 20th with my doctor and I will get my surgery date on that day. I was told by the office staff that it should be about two weeks from when I meet with him. Which means I will be a November 2009 Bandster. Anyone else out there yet with a prospective November surgery date? What are you going to do to kill time so you don't get too excited and jump out of your skin like I feel like I might!

I am getting band on the 19th I am so excited I had my labs done today also my ultra sound ever thing went well. thanks Sonia:thumbup:

I'm having mine done the day after Thanksgiving, 11-27-09! I'm soooo excited. I entered my information on the group. I'm not even afraid of what the surgery might bring, because my whole family had the roux-en-y gastric bypass (except me I'm gonna be a bandster!). I think the only thing I'm really worried about is eating in public, and the "bandster hell" weeks 4-6 before I can get my fill.

I am getting banded on 11/20 at 2pm. I am so excited!! I am a little concerned because my pre-op diet is only 2 days.... My thoughts and prayers are with everyone.

I know! Do you have all ur stuff together?

yeah, everything is fine just my pcp decided to send the clearance at the last minute for giggles I guess. I have a morning surgery but I just don't know the time. I will get the check in time tomorrow morning I'm pretty anxious. Hope all goes well. As soon as I'm out I'll report here to let everyone know I'm alive and well.

I get banded 11/20 @ 12pm.

I'm excited but honestly just a little nervous. Hoping for a smooth transition!

My surgery is Nov. 20th and I am freaking out, for some reason I keep thinking that my liver didn't shrink enough I only lost 4 pounds on my pre op diet. I start my clear liquids on wed for 48 hours so hopefully I drop a couple more pounds.

Thanks for your well wishes. I am everything went fine. I was banded at 8;30 and by 6:00 pm was getting ready to leave when I suddenly weak and some nausea so I decided to stay overnight. My room was not like that but the the hospital was pretty nice and the service was excellent. I have not needed to use pain medicine I am just uncomfortable with gas. I am actually at back at work and the hardest part is controlling your desire to eat when everything you can not have smells so good.

Sorry to hear that you got the shakey knee syndrom so you had to spent the night. Just as well, just to be sure.

But I am amazed at your not using anything for pain. Wow, you must be doing fab-U-lous!!!! The gas pain would be enough for pain meds for me!!!:w00t:

I know what you mean about food smelling good, actually at this point it smells EXTRA good. I just posted in another thread that all of us that are getting banded this month and next month should get extra Kudos. EVERYTHING is about food, and you can't even go to the hardware store without Christmas cookies, candies and other treats blaring in your face. The TV is full of shows and commercials with familys and food. At work it is homemade cookies, fudge, candies and any other holiday treat you can think of. Then of course you have all those holiday recipes that everyone trades at this time of year. Rediculous!!

Just keep strong, and keep posting here and checking in, and hopefully we can all stay strong together!

Hey, I'm in Greenville, NC and I am also getting banded in Nov. Nov 19th actually.

WooHoo Me Too! I'm guessing your blood work came out ok.

To my fellow Nov 18 Knockouts - less than 24 hours to go! :w00t:

I just created my own ticker...How do I add it to my info on this site? I have read so many posts as I am new here. I just had surgery Thursday Nov 12,2009. First few days were tough...I need to slow down even more. Thanks for all the positive input!
