DS and I have been working on sprucing up the patio this spring... so today I bought a fire pit and chair cushions... we got a new big umbrella a few weeks ago... planted flowers in the barrels... and tonight we actually hung out on the patio! Amazing! The kids played board games out there while I made dinner, then we bbq'd and ate out there, then we had a fire in the fire pit and toasted marshmallows & enjoyed s'mores! It was so relaxing, sitting out under the stars by the fire... mesmerizing!

Maybe there's hope for my yard yet! Baby steps...

Hey girls!

Long day. LOVED Sex and the City!!! If you are a fan, you will; if not, then you will prolly like it!

Laura, THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!! Can't believe I paid 50bucks for that freakin' virus. Please ask him to add the regular free adware protection thingy...you guys are a life saver!

Judy, think you were hungover from the pills. Glad you are feeling better now! Take it easy this weekend!

Janie, what a great idea for the Bobster! You are always so sweet.

Michelle, your patio sounds FABU!!! We need pix! We want a fire pit, but will wait until Fall. Perhaps you all will be here

Well, remember the "I'm broke" story...IT IS TRUE! I was docked $907 to got to Texas...WWWAAAAHHHHHHH! (incert BIG F BOMBS here). Oh well...I will save all summer!

Big day tomorrow...BA's and Nikki's hubbys are coming over to do some home projects (hanging the bikes on the ceiling in the garage). Then friends over for bbq and chillaxing by the pool in the evening. It is supposed to be mid 90's tomorrow!

Good morning, Violets..

Feeling much better this morning. Nathan said it was probably the pain pills that did the number on me.

I'm broke too, PamELa.... the Canada trip cost us about $700 and we got nothing out of it. At least you got to spend time with the Violets and witness a beautiful wedding.

I gotta tell you though, spending time at home with the Bobster has been very enjoyable. Today I have the WW meeting.. I decided I'm not going to weigh in. I'll weigh in on Wednesdays and go to the meetings on Saturday.

Then I head to the college to practice Hallelujah with the guitar and flute player. After Bob gets back from the funeral, we'll head to Kris's to plant the veggie garden.

Supposed to be 82 today. Perfect pool weather.

Michelle, your patio sounds wonderful. We have a fire pit in the back yard, but don't use it much.

Off to find some Breakfast and get ready to meet Kris at the WW meeting.

Everyone have a great day!

Wooo Hooooo....our friend was able to sell two of our tickets for Canada. At least we can recoup some of the loss.

BEAUTIFUL day here today. I've been going through old pictures and sorting them out. Now I'm headed to the side yard to get that cleaned out and ready to be spruced up. I forgot I'd need more mulch for that area. It's beyond our fence and I don't remember it's even there. arghhhhhhhh

MORE mulch? It truly doesn't seem possible!

Why were you docked, Pam? Wasn't it vacay time?

Here's a fire pit pic... will try to get one of the whole patio later today...

Off to take dd to a slumber party & then go to ds's 2nd soccer game of the day! Ta Ta!

love the fire pit Michelle!!

Feeling better?

Pamela, if it makes you feel better, not only do I not get paid when I don't work, I have to pay to not work cause I rent!! We all count on our money so every bit counts!! It sounds like you were counting on that money!! I know that when I take off, no money, that is one of the bad things of being self employed.

Blindside was really good, but I am sure everyone else has already seen it.........

Good morning, Violets..

Well, the Bobster is the big 6-5 today. He had a 3 Musketeer bar for breakfast.. lol Actually he is saving those and having them as a nightly snack, Jane.

We are headed out to get some hamburger and Buns for tomorrow. I have the potatoes and eggs done for the potato salad. Then off to get two more bushes. He is going to mow the backyard, but it's too wet now and since I didn't get to the side yard yesterday, that's my goal today.

Pool time this afternoon. It's supposed to get to 88 today so floating around in the pool sounds just perfect.

We got Kris's veggies planted yesterday. Grady was happy to see his other Gramma... me! I'll go back this Thursday to plant some more sugar peas. That way they don't all mature at once and she has a s**t load of peas. (I usually don't say that on Sundays!).:cursing:

Off to get dressed and head out. Everyone make it a great day!!!!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
