HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of you!

Denise, I do have a "Mad Money" account that Earl doesn't have access to. What I'd like to do is set up a monthly "payment" to that account..... my allowance.... and then I'd use that for my spending money. As it stands.... I use that to save for big ticket items I want to buy. And the agreement is that any "extra" money that comes in, I can put in that account. But last year I got in trouble for putting the tax return in that account!:biggrin::sad:

Karla, hope you have a busier day at work today... I think!! LOL

Haven't felt good all weekend... might have DD's flu... but not as sick as she was. About to have my omelet... not enthused about it. Ribs hurt from throwing up yesterday.

Ah Phyl that sucks being sick on Mothers Day... keep up with the fluids if you can... do you have any chicken boullion around? or chicken noodle Soup??

HUGS GIRLFRIEND:blush:

Happy Mother's Day Gang !!!!

Denise - Blot Clot are very dangerous - it sounds like what he has - it could be from the surgery - a lady at work has them/it and she had surgery a few weeks ago - and my GF candy who I just went to Temecula with DH had them a year ago and no surgery- they just developed - it's very very very dangerous - please make him go to the ER NOW NOW NOW I MEAN NOW..

Karla - How nice of #5 & bf - #4 needs an ass kicking ;0)

Think good thoughts about your Dad... Remember the happy times..

Phyl - glad you aren't as sick at Tracy - Hugs - all that cold weather..

You made me lol - that you put the tax return in your account - wtg

Linda - Ya you win gf not that this is a contest - but omw alot of death and that divorce thing.. Hugs...

Well had a great time - think I wore Candy out we shopped at this great mall on Friday got 2 dresses a pair of capri's and a 2 shrugs - 1 bra - Went to Pechange Casino - omw it's as big as a casino in Vegas !!! Had dinner (cobb salad) the gambled a little - didn't win..

Oh ya messed up my car - backed up in a parking lot - went to turn - hadn't backed up far enought and ran over a curb - tore up underneath my front bumber pretty bad - it was hanging and scraping the ground - not the bumper itself but some plastic behind it..

Then Saturday went to Chrysler to see if they could jerri rig the bumper - I got duct tape - but it wouldn't really stick - so they rebuttoned some of the buttons that popped out and it's not draging anymore -

Than we hit old town - had this GREAT Breakfast (more brunch cuz it was about 11ish) eggs, sauage & busicuts & gravey - omw the sauage and b&g were great - walked around for 5.5 hrs looking at all the stuff - bought another dress - some body butter, candle - Jerky - some great garlic oilive oil and honey balsamic vinegar - went back to the room rested a little and changed went back to casino - had dinner 6 oz of bison burger (without the bun) just the patty & cheese and couple of onion rings - The place was so packed we could find the poker machines we play - so came back to the room

Got up this am around 8 - and was home by 11:30..

Andrew - bought me lunch ;0)..

Washing clothes right now - really need to go to the store and get some lettuce so I can make a salad to use my new olive oil/vinegar on - but don't feel like getting dressed.

Confession - ate too many Cookies - and am going to have to sugar detox this coming week..

Linda & Candice - I don't need to lose - well maybe a couple lbs after my sugar this weekend - but I'm on for Eating Healthy Challenge...

Ok dryer dinged - gotta go fold clothes - ugh...

Well, today was busier at the nursery, that will help the boss. Only not so good thing...I backed into a customer's truck with the loader. The nursery insurance will pay for it, but I feel really bad.

Have found an additional part time job. One of the ladies at the nursery owns a consignment shop, so I asked if I could work there. She said yes. She also is looking at buying the nursery and asked me if I would be interested in buying it with her in 6 years...it is something to think about. I'd really love to, but I dont' know how much of a risk taker I am. So I need to give it some thought.

Anyway, watching a movie, so I'll check in tomorrow.

Hope you all had a good Mother's day. Hanet, it sounds like you had a good weekend.

Morning Ladies!! Hope you all had a restful weekend. It sounds like Janet shopped till you droppped!! Sounds like you had too much fun.

Janet, you will get the sugar worked out of your system. You always do.

Would love to stay home and sleep, not what I can do, but I'd sure enjoy it.

Watched the Jesse Stone movie last night with Tom Selec. I didn't realize the author had dies, I did enjoy his books.

Well, best get moving, TTFN

Candice, the Consignment job would be in addition to the nursery job.

Janet, I'd be 57 in six years so there is no way I would risk my retirement. I am not a gambler. But I might consider working there full time. Who knows, I'm not going to plan on anything.

I am staying home tomorrow. I am tiredk and real grouchy, so it is safer for the students to not be there. Also Bailey the cat is not doing well. Since Saturday she has lost a 2 inch by 3 inch swatch of fur. It looks like it just fell out. The area is hot and bumpy. Also her arthritus is really bothering her. So the vet is coming by. I hope the skin issue isn't something really going to be a problem. If it isn't something that can be treated and it is just going to get worse and more painful I am prepared to have the vet put her down. She just is having a rough time getting use to the new house and stairs.

Denise, did you get your DH into the doctor?

Candice, focus, exercise, you can do it!!! I'm working on it to, I ate more junk food this weekend at work than I have for over a year.

Hey Phyl, where are you?

Just a quick note on blood clots from Nurse Linda: They actually are the result of inactivity. Often people get them after childbirth, surgery, and long plane flights when they've been sitting or laying in one position for a length of time. The clot develops because the blood in the veins isn't moving enough. Then when the person does start moving again the clot disloges and travels usually ending up in the thiny blood vessles of the lungs which is how people die from them. It happened to a patient of mine once after a baby--very, very sad.

By keeping active and doing leg exercises during long flights, or after surgery you keep the blood moving and clots can't develop. But any time a person complains of pain, redness, swelling in the legs and there's a history of inactivity we need to consider the possibility and have the person checked out. Sometimes "clot-busting" drugs can be used.

Hope everything's OK.

Well, the spring semester is over today but the summer one started. They'll be a little let down, but not much! Hope to be able to keep up with you all a little better now.

WEll... after the back episode in March, I never went to see a back specialist. So when I tried to make an appt here with ortho, they said I needed a referral from my primary care doc. And she wouldn't give me a referral unless I went in to see her for THAT problem. So I went this morning and took my x-rays. When she looked at the x-rays she said she didn't think those episodes of pain I had, based on where I showed her the pain was, had anything to do with the state of my spine/vertebrae, etc. She said the pain was too high, and the bone spurs and messed up spine are lower. So she wants me to see a physiatrist... for possible cortisone inj in my back, and she gave me an Rx for PT. I told her about the options for PT in my neighborhood, and turns out the gym I go to has a PT department. So when I went to my appt with the trainer this afternoon, I showed him the Rx for PT. He had me warm up on the bike for about 7 minutes and then decided I should so see the therapist and let him direct my exercise program.

Turned out they had a 3pm appt available, and it was almost 3pm by then. By the time I filled out paperwork and she called my insurance and got confirmation of my benefits, the PT guy was ready for me. So I ended up being over there 2 hrs! He went through 3 different exercises with me, did a deep massage of my lumbar area, and put ice and TENS wrap on my back for about 20 minutes. I'm scheduled for therapy in their warm Water pool on Friday, but I'll go over a couple of times between now and then to ride the bike and maybe I'll do a little walking on the treadmill, too.

But, by the time I left there I could hardly walk... maybe from the bike, I don't know... but limping with pain in my right hip!! LOL!! Where does it end! I think I overdid the Wii with grandson, Charly (7) yesterday. I'm so competitive! First we did "Just Dance"... I won, then he got bored with that so I bowled a couple of games. (Think that's what did it!) Then Charly came back and we played two rounds of golf.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
