Surgery in 2 days and getting very nervous

Hey there, my surgery is scheduled for Wednesday and I am getting really nervous. I know that is probably normal but I have been thru lots of surgeries and this is one is just really making me nervous. I don't know if it is b/c my husband HAS to work and can't be there with me or what. Anyone else have any suggestions for me to think of or do to quit worrying about this so much.:crying:

I am so happy for yall and glad yall are having your surgery this week. I know we are going to make it and it will be a new life. My husband is a police officer and can't get off to be there. He is very supportive and wants to be there they are just short handed and he can't get off. I know it will be ok and it is just nerves making me this way. We will be fine. Good luck to both of you and keep me updated on how things are going.

Ladies, best of luck to you all. You will be fine. I found the anticipation of the surgery was way worse than the surgery itself. It's really more discomfort than actual pain. Not too bad really and is pretty much over with in a bout a week.

Congrats on starting this new phase of your life.

My surgery is tomorrow, and I am a nervous wreck :crying:. I have never had any surgeries other than 2 c- sections. Some how this is different. I guess cause this is really about myself. You guys are in my prayers, and remember me in yours.

good luck we can do this and all will be fine.

I am also getting banded on Wednesday and I agree the waiting is very nerve racking!! My hospital offered a class with a holistic nurse and it was actually very confortable. She said that to write a list of 10 positive affirmations and read them. Also, when you get nervous about the procedure, start thinking of yourself doing something you haven't been able to do at your current weight (actually doing it) or just doing something you love. I have been thinking of sitting at the beach at the Jersey shore reading a favorite book and bike riding with my family without getting tired or winded. It must have helped because last night I had a dream that I was jogging (barefoot) and had so much energy. LOL.

Alot of people say the wait it worse that the surgery so I am going to focus on the positive......you should do. Good luck and Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

I'm getting banded tomorrow morning. I have to be at the hospital at 6:15am, ew. I haven't been nervous until today. Once I got the call where I was told what time surgery is scheduled, it got really real, lol!

I'm not horribly nervous, but I am nervous. My leg is bouncing up and down.

I wish the surgery was a little later so that I had more time to get stuff together in the morning, since I'll be going to my mom's house. Maybe we can stop by my house after the surgery.

i had surgery on the 23rd and i must agree the wait is worse. we let our minds take us places that the actual surgery does not. stay positive and i wish you all safe surgeries.

I am having surgery tomorrow morning at 11:00 am. I am also pretty nervous. I wanna thank all of you that are saying the waiting is worse than the surgery. I really need to hear that tonight! Good luck to all of you. We will all be just fine!
