I bought a two piece-and I'm not talking about KFC

Another NSV-I am going on two beach trips soon-Va Beach this weekend and Myrtle Beach, SC the end of July. I have always avoided beaches/pools etc. in the past but I did have two swim suits that I have used with coverups. (If you even want to call them swim suits b/c one had a big old flare skirt thing and the other had some built in big shorts but for all purposes, they were swim suits; size 30/32). So for these two upcoming trips, I wanted a swim suit but the two old ones are waaay too big (yeah!!).

Despite all the weight I have lost, I am rather self conscious about my legs & my knees look kinda flabby too. But to me, the look is no where near what I must have looked like at 368 pounds. I had not planned on getting anything but decided to go looking. Don't know if was temporary insanity or what but I ended up getting a two piece:lol:. The top is a black/white halter and the bottom is black with a short sleek built in skirt that fastens on the side. Both pieces size 18. I tried it on and my 11 year old fashionista neice gave me a:thumbup: so I guess I will be sunning it up this weekend and later on. I took a pic and sent it to my boyfriend. He gave me a thumbs up too. So I guess I am not that crazy after all. Hope I don't chicken out but I will be taking a coverup just in case.

Congrats, you should be sooooooo proud of yourself. That is some definite motivation. Enjoy and bask in this wonderful moment. Keep up the GREAT work.

That is so awesome. Congrats!!!

Its a strange strange feeling getting out there in a two piece for the first time since you were a child. It's hard to imagine feeling more naked if you WERE naked.

but what I've discovered is that although we worry about our rolls of flesh and such, a 2 piece can actually be more balancing to your body than a one piece - strange but true.

I felt my flabby stomach shouldnt be shown, but really, its not that bad. But I do have a fairly wobbly backside, lol. Well, a one piece of tankini directs ALL the focus straight onto my thighs - a 2 piece visually breaks me up and stops the focus being on my problem area. My DH who is brutally honest said that although I am no bikini model, I actually look better less covered than when I try to hide the flabby bits.

Its the same as how wearing baggy, loose jeans FEELS more comfortable becuase bits arent hanging over, but well fitting jeans will always always look better.

Be brave. Get out there and show yourself. Once you get used to it, you will feel great and in truth, covering up fools nobody anyway.
