Shrinking Violets Part 4

Recommended Posts

Happy Monday to you girls!! I'm sure all the moms are so happy to finally have some peace and quiet!

Hot here today like usual. I'm so ready for October so we can have cooler weather. We went swimming yesterday and stayed in the pool till way past 11pm and we weren't even cold.

Gonna grab some coffee and get my day started...

At 8:59 my phone rang... it's the new ES PTA Prez, calling me for my sage advice. The first day of school! School hadn't even started yet! & the new Board is all fighting & sending snarky e-mails & generally behaving badly.

To say that I felt a smidge of redemption would be putting it mildly. I really shouldn't be feeling so smug, should I? It's unbecoming, I know. But... I do. Sure, it looked easy -- because I WORKED HARD to achieve that! Yes, there's a lot to do -- I DID IT! So I guess taking the high road eventually does lead to some satisfaction... albeit delayed.

Tee Hee.

Good evening, Violets..

What a great day today. The pool was awesome. 90 degrees and the air temp was 73. Sun was shining and Ethan and I swam for an hour and a half. He is getting so good at getting around by himself. He used to wear a floaty that went around his waist and slipped around his arms, but today he wore the suit that has the floaters built in. We had a ball, swimming and talking and splashing. And the best part is when he came in he was ready for a nap. He's been sleeping for a couple of hours now. We're just waiting for his daddy to come and pick him up. I leave in a few minutes to go to church for the big meeting. I don't know what to expect. I know what I hope, but that's just a hope. I will be just glad to get things over with.

Everyone have a good evening. Enjoy those school kids and their stories this evening. Hope they all had wonderful first days today.

Ya'll been following the Megan Wants a Millionaire guy!?

I was watching that show (I may be repeating myself).. Judy were you watching it? It's like Flavo O Love and all those, but its a sexy girl and a houseful of millionaires going for her. After like the 4th episode, one of the guys (rumored to be a finalist) who apparently was MARRIED, was on the run for killing his swimsuit model wife. Not just killed, cut her up, pulled her teeth out, cut fingers off and stuck her in a dumpster. This morning they announced they found him in a motel, hung himself. Crazy. And after all that, I still am irritated they cancelled the show, I was really enjoying it. Such a BIZARRE set of millionaires; the kind who would go on a tv show and fight other men for a woman.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
