Recommended Posts

I just had my 2nd fill and now am up to 5cc and I can really tell that I have the band now... Not eating more than 4oz at a meal and Im loving it!

I work 2nd shift and I need something to take to eat for Supper thats quick and small. I dont want to take more than Im gonna eat or I may want to snack on it again later. I need some ideas of just quick things to take! I'm stuck with ideas.

A small salad, like a chicken caesar with a little hardcooked egg, Parmesan cheese, Romaine, light Caesar dressing and fat free croutons? If you have access to a microwave, a crustless pizza could work. I use Ragu Homestyle, covered with Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, covered with Birdseye Pepper Stir Fry (consists of three colors of peppers and onions, nothing else) and cover that with Kraft shredded mozarella or cheddar cheese. Put in a meal portion size microwavable dish (I get 2-3 meals from a jar of Ragu). You could make a pot of chili and divide it into 6-8 meals (ground turkey, browned, can of Beans undrained, can of chopped green chilies undrained, packet of chili seasoning mix, chopped onions, and simmer. When bubbly throw on some Kraft shredded fat free cheese, then allow to cool and separate into containers. I use tupperware. You could also make tuna, chicken or turkey salad, packing a meal portion size so there is no snacking temptation.

Hope this helps. I pack food I can eat even when there is a luncheon at work, just in case it is something I can't or don't want to eat. And I carry an insulated Water bottle everywhere. Good luck on your journey.

If you don't have time to cook:

I do sandwich wraps. Depending on the day I'll use a flatwrap bread, or a big leaf of romaine lettuce which gets my lettuce in but also serves as the wrap! I do some type of sandwich meat, a slice of cheese and lettuce. Sometimes I'll add in a little dressing (italian, balsamic, etc.) as well. I manage 3-4 lunches like this a week simply because I can change it up with different meats, dressings, etc. and I don't get sick of it.

I also make a kickin southwestern style salad. Well it's not reaaaally a salad, though you could definitely make it one if you're craving some lettuce). I do marinated chicken (I pull it when it's done cooking so it's in small bits), corn, Beans, a little shredded cheese, cilantro, a bit of homemade salsa, some tortilla strips, etc. You can eat it hot or cold and you can put as much or little as you want in it.

I hate looking for recipes online but if you get creative with your google searches, you can find some really good ones that are both quick and easy to make.

Hi, RandiG!

I have been grilling chicken breast or pork tenderloin then slicing and freezing in 4 oz. Zip Lock containers. Before I leave for work I grab one out of the freezer. For the chicken I add a little fat free italian dressing, teryaki or buffalo sauce. I also grill fish ahead of time too. I cook once a week on Sunday & have my lunch throughout the work week that way.

On weekends, I make and freeze small meals - things like pea and ham or zucchini and leek Soup in single serve containers. Those are simple to take, I add an apple for a snack (I keep a peeler in my bag as i have to peel and cut up apples to eat them).

I also freeze dinner leftovers in single containers. Early on I invested in a whole lot of small pyrex lidded containers.

Um, what else.... I make small salads and take a single serve tin of tuna.< /p>

I also buy a lot of precut vegies - in Safeway here, they sell great little kids packs containing celery and carrot sticks and cherry tomatoes - with a good gourmet hummus dip those are a great lunch, I can leave the dip in the fridge at work but you can always spoon some into a small container to take.

Yogurts - i love the gourmet yogurts with a layer of fruit in them - the thick greek stuff, its really filling.

And occasionally I take the makings for a salad sandwich - lettuce, Tomato, cheese, grated carrot, cucumber and some wholegrain bread.< /p>

Tyson makes a 99% fat free chicken that comes in a small can...its a great option for a wrap. You can use low carb tortilla's or romaine lettuce as someone suggested above. Also, if you like tuna they have it many varities and you can use it with wraps.

I also make shrimp or crab salad and I wrap it with romaine lettuce. Let me know if you want the recipe. It's really quick and easy to make and tastes yummy.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
