I still have some pain but am definitely on my way to getting better. I am off the pain meds and have been ever since I got some new meds. I am much more positive too, I was really just so miserable with all that was going on physically with me. It was overwhelming. There were just to many areas that were hurting lol. Thanks for all your support I really appreciate it xoxo

Allie: My heck on fire! What a pain the in butt! It is all too too much. I think you have been amazingly positive through a difficult experience. I totally understand what you are going through and I'm glad you're coming out on the other side. It should get better from here on out. Just remind yourself that this situation is only temporary and your new body is here to stay! Glad you're doing better!

Hey there.. well, I had to go back to the doc today. Downtown is still hurting. Now they say I have dermatitis due to all the stress from the surgery, my immune and lymphatic system going crazy so they changed to straight steroid lotion. I am getting more and more frustrated. I just hope this time it works and within a couple of days I am cured. I really can't take much more. I am trying to stay positive and happy and wow I am struggling. I took another pain pill last night just so I wouldn't itch. I know it could always be worse so I am hoping for the best. Other than that I am doing great lol :) My unemployment ran out this week but I am getting an extension which was a nice surprise. Have a great day everyone!

Hi everyone!!!! I have great news... Downtown is now open for business lol. I am back to normal finally! I am feeling soooo great.

Ok so an update on what's been happening.. My wedding ring set had gotten so big on me even with the guard hubby said time to get it resized. We went and my set was a size 9 ( back years ago I had to have it stretched to accomodate my sausage fingers ) well they measured me and my finger is now a 5 -1/2! What a huge difference. It was such a great difference they said that I needed to get a brand new set. we went to two different jewelers and they both said the same thing. So here I am with no rings.. They are supposed to be ready on the 23rd. The reason I told you this was to explain why the following happened.. lol

So last night was the first time I went to the gym since my surgery's.. it was so great an hour and a half of treadmill and bike.. low impact and it was great to just get some excercize. But as I was on the treadmill two different guys came over and hit on me. It's so weird to have that happen especially twice! I feel so great about how I look. I am so pleased with my results. My thighs still swell every evening but I know that will go away soon. I haven't gained any weight thank god.. I hear that happens alot after ps. I am super tight and like it that way. I do want to tone everything up though.. Summer is right around the corner

My 40th birthday is the 26th and we are having a huge bash on the 27th.. so excited. I am still looking for that perfect dress and in the process have bought 8 new dresses. I'm not sure if any of them are the one so I keep looking lol. I figure the more choices I have the better. I love love shopping now. All the dresses are 8 or 10.. I struggle since my boobs are so big that I need a bigger dress to get them over the boobs but my waist is so small .. I might have to get something altered to get the perfect look. I will have hubby take pics and post them on here of my dresses  you girls can help me pic the perfect one!

It will be fun helping you pick your B'day dress because we already know that your B'day SUIT is wonderful, LOL!!! I loved the story about you getting hit on twice at the gym, what a moral booster. Glad to hear downtown is open for business and your thighs aren't swelling til the evening. Congratulations on not gaining any wt, that is awesome!!!

I feel bad. I read your earliest post, I didn't realize what all you had been thru! Bless your heart! I just got banded on Tuesday. I was wondering if it would be worth all of that to have everything lifted? Hope you are feeling better soon!!!

Hello! It has been awhile, I am doing pretty good. I hadn't gotten on a scale in a while and I did about a week ago and bam I had gained 6 pounds!!! Argh just when I think I don't have to worry about my weight anymore. So I realized that I needed to step up my game once again. I started doing lap swimming which has been awesome!! I love it and it doesn't feel like hard excercize. I was building to much muscle with the elliptical the front of my thighs were starting to bulge eek. So I think swimming will help to lean me out. I have a submarine ball to go to on april 10 and my dress is super form fitting. I love it but am hoping I will be a little leaner in it lol. I am actively looking for a job.. starting to get super bored. We still haven't sold our house ugh. Still hoping it will go soon. Other than that same stuff different day.. I hope you are all doing well. xoxo

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
