Gee whiz, Allie, you sure had a crummy day....can't your doc change you to Lortab or Tylenol #3? Being in pain or discomfort can set your healing back. I hope you have a better day today, I will be sending good thoughts your way.

Mimi

Oh Allie,

Sorry you daughter bailed. Try to have Snacks upstairs so you don't go starving. I can't wait to see some pics of your itty bitty thighs.

Hope you get some better pain meds. Nightmares are no fun.

Keep resting and healing

Cabin fever has set in. I have to say the pain is really not bad at all. It is more of a pulling sensation. The scars are alot longer than I anticipated. They go almost all the way up to my Tummy Tuck scar and all the way down and up the crease of my butt. My thighs are looking pretty good. I think I was expecting a better result but my hubby says I am still really swollen. I had alot of Lipo done as well and wow are my thighs sore. The bruising is starting to set in. I am off of the percocets completely. I just want to get out of this house! Doc said I had to stay in bed with knees elevated for at a minimum 1 week. ugh. I have a fill appt on monday and a post op appt on tuesday so I will be able to get out then. My weight went way up after surgery and now I am wayyyy down. I will have hubby take some pics today. Well I hope everyone is having a great day.

Hello Allie,

I've just read the fifteen pages of your journey and wow Im amaze at how well your doing! I plan on having ps but not until next year, still have 30 pound to lose. I was wondering how long were your two surgery? I've notice you said you had to drive 1h30 to yoru surgeon office, how was it after the surgery going back home, being in the car for so long? My ps surgeon is about 1h30 drive from where I live too, and being stuck in a car for that amount of time after surgery kind of scares me. When I was band, the ride from the hospital to my home was less then 10 min. and I was dying to get out of the car!

Best regards.

Julie

just posted new thigh pics! Let me know what you think.

Julie.. hey there! Wow thanks for reading my thread. I actually don't remember the drive home from the tt/ba or the ride home from the thigh lift. Hubby kept me nice and drugged up. LOL. The Tummy Tuck, breast lift with implants and Lipo surgery was a little over 8 hours long. My thigh lift and lipo surgery was I believe 3 hours. What are you thinking of having done?

Thanks for the quick answer, Im not really sure what I will get done other then my breast!!! I have a DDD that is going down its disgusting!!! Im not sure for the Tummy Tuck I don't have alot of excess skin so might be able to get away with Lipo, if not I'll definitly get one! other then that I'll have to talk to my ps and see what he think is ok to do and what is over doing it... Like i've said Im not there yet, still have to lose a few more pound and they are coming off so slow its depressing but its ok... I've asked this in another post but Im gonna ask you since you had the surgery, do you see your port sticking out or its well hidden?

hey sweetie, my port does not stick out at all. I can feel it but it is right under the skin. I did the same, I asked my PS what he thought I should get. Although the implants were my decision. I have always had large breasts and they had just shrunk. I am a DD now and very happy I went as big as I did. My favorite is my Tummy Tuck. I had alot of extra skin which you can see in my pics. But all in all, I am so happy with everything I had and would do it again in a heart beat. ;)

Allie,

Your thighs look great. The scar is nice. I wasn't sure what you meant reading your earlier post about what the scar would look like. I was expecting multiple scars for some reason. What about the back side? you have incisions there too?

Hang in there, soon you will be out your cabin. Remember you are healing and want the best results. Not to rush things.

I went to my 1 week post op appt yesterday and it went great, they took out some stitches and I don't have to go back until March 2. Now the drive there and home was a challenge. Sitting up is such a literal pain in the butt. The stitches in the back are the worst. It's tough to walk, sit and pretty much do anything but lay down. I really think this recovery is alot tougher than the Tummy Tuck and breast lift. I still can't wear underwear since the seams hit in all the wrong spots. Although I can wear my hubby's briefs which the band comes farther down on my legs lol. The doc laughed when he saw I was wearing men's underwear. I am still wearing sweats and when home really just wearing pj's. The doc said I was healing terrific and couldn't believe how my tummy tuck and breast scars were fading so fast (go mederma!) He also said I still had alot of swelling in my thighs still. The Lipo bruises are turning nice and yellow and fading fast.

I can hardly wait to be able to sit comfortably and enjoy this new body of mine  The doc said it this was a really tough spot for surgery. Everything is really tight down there.

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Allie you are looking and sounding great. Are you glad you did the PS?? I can't wait to see more pics of the thigh lift after you heal more. So sounds like thigh surgery is less painful but more difficult recovery?

I will have to get some of that mederma and try it on my knee scars.

Hi Great! I am soooo happy I got the PS! I would do it all over again in a heart beat! The change has been so dramatic for me physically and emotionally. Yes, the thigh lift was a more difficult recovery but alot less painful. It's more uncomfortable than painful. Definitely try the mederma! I highly recommend it!

Hey there. Well I am absoloutely totally positively miserable! Tomorrow will be 2 weeks and my legs are still killing me. If I am upright for more than really 30 minutes they swell and hurt so bad! I really expected to be completely better by now. I screwed up last week and went to the mall for about 2 hours and seriously my hubby had to put me in the car and scoop me out and bring me in the house. I couldn't walk I was in so much pain. The Lipo of the legs is so rough and with the thigh lift I am just a mess. I haven't taken pain meds in forever at least a week. I really don't want to take them, I have a very addictive personality and don't want to become dependent on them. I also have a personal issue.. the thigh lift also does something else.. it pulls skin really tight next to my vagina and anus. This in itself has caused some discomfort. It is really tight and itchy down there. It all feels different down there. I am sure once I heal completely I will like it lol. I know I know I am complaining like crazy but I just am getting to my breaking point. I try not to complain to hubby, he has done soooo much for me. I am planning on just resting as much as possible this week which frustrates me to no end. I don't want him to do so much. So since I am on the complaining wagon, I have been having some shooting sharp pains in my nipples which my doc says is a great sign of my nerves starting to talk again. I will be glad when I can look back and say ahh that was a rough time and I'm glad I am normal again. I know I need to be patient, not my strong suit. I hope everyone is well. Please say a prayer for quick healing for me. I would appreciate it  xoxo

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
