Christina89, hope you are not as nervous as I am! We start this journey on the same day. I go in at 6:30 a.m., what time are you scheduled for? Best of luck to you, please let me know how you are doing after surgery!

Just rescheduled this week for July 1st. I'm confused... Are there 2 July groups? I've seen July Jewels and July Freedom Fighters. What's the story?

Basically, here's the scoop. There were several threads started concerning what those being banded in July 2009 would be called. Several ideas were tossed around, and on this board, it was determined we would be July Jewels. However on the board that is broken down by years and months, someone had actually started a poll where we could vote on a name. Most folks, at least at first, didn't realize there were duplicate threads. So, on the other board where there was actually a poll, the name Freedome Fighters won over July Jewels but like 1 vote, I think. Apparently, some folks decided they wanted to keep with the name July Jewels, while others decided to go with the majority. Thus, there are two names floating out there. Personally, I was partial to (and voted for) July Jewels, but since I like to go with the flow, I consider myself a Freedom Fighter since that was a majority decision. (I thought the poll was a great idea!) I really don't think it matters, though. All that matters is that we support each other in this journey no matter what we call ourselves.:)

Thanks Amy. I thought it must have been something like that, but I came in somewhere in the middle and never could backtrack enough to figure it out. It's incredible how many posts there are on this site :).

It's been kind of hard to find which thread to post to. Hopefully this will be the "main" thread for us July people. My date is the 2nd and is getting very close.

I am not excited at all. I'm am dreading this whole process, however, I am excited about the "tool". As I read posts and go back and read old ones and the new ones, everyone's experience is different. What will mine be? I know I'm the one to make the decision to use the tool as intended. I'm also amazed at how many people have lost over 100 pounds. That is a lot of weight and I'm amazed by their experiences.

I leave for Mexico on Wednesday afternoon and surgery is on Thursday. It's less than a week away. I should be home with holes in my belly one week from today. I think I'm going to have a very hard time concentrating on work next week.

Nervous and counting days.................

I would love to be a part of the July Jewels or Freedom Fighters....whatever we call ourselves, we rock! How do I "pick-up" that cool tag on someone else's posting?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
