I finally have my date confirmed! July 10th. On my birthday. Think it's an omen???

So I was thinking a name with July in it. Don't have any really good ones.

July Jewels?

We are all jewels weather we are fat or not, and we are losing weight for ourselves, and to shine! ?!

Just a thought!

I too have a JULY 10TH surgery date, Keep in touch an share your experiences, I will share mine too. Good luck:thumbup:

I wonder why some have to do a pre op diet and some don't. I wonder what the criteria is....any idea???

For my doctor, I think it's based on the BMI. My friend has a higher BMI and had to do a 2 week diet and my BMI is 37 and only have to do a 3 day one.

I don't know what the criteria is ... but I do know your liver will thank you if you do loose 10-15 lbs. before surgery depending on your weight. The surgeon has to move your liver in order to get to your stomach.

I'll admit, i really like July Jewels...

Freedom fighters is strong as well....

So...i put both lol! Anyone for July fighters or Freedom Jewels? hahahaha. teasing!

Okay...there is now a poll for chosing our name. Go vote, everyone!

I can't find the poll. I am sure I am doing something wrong, but please help for the newbies!!!

For me, the pre-op diet is part of insurance pre-certification. Basically, I had to prove that I would follow directions from the nutritionist.

It is on this board, and the word Poll is in the name. I would gladly give you better directions if I knew how!

OK the question about pre-op diet--- it is to reduce the fat in the liver so that the doctor can move your liver easier... if they move it and it is fatty it can tear. EVEN if you doc doesn't give you a pre-op diet it is in your best interest to reduce to liquids at the very least for the week prior to surgery. Just my opinion (Oh I work for vascular surgeons so I know where info is coming from) I am leary of docs who don't have a pre-op plan...

Hello Fellow Bandsters, I am having my surgery on 7-3 and I am on a pre-op diet now(liquid Protein and no carbs)It is very exciting and somewhat scary the closer it gets!! :)

Good luck to all of you!

Hello! My surgery date is July 7th and I am required to follow a protein pre-op shake for two weeks. My BMI is 44, but my Doc requires it of everyone.
