Good luck with the liquids, you must be used to them by now on Day 10. I lost 'weight' in the boobs and really didn't notice it right away, but my bras are much better fitting and some are even sloppy now, after 50+ lbs gone. It's a wonderful feeling, congrats on taking control of your health with the band.

you are not going to lose without restriction and that sometimes takes a little longer for everyone. I have had two fills, got to 5ccs and couldn't really eat much of anything solid. I was miserable and needed an adjustment...or unfill. Things are better now, but I still have a lot of trouble eating anything before noon time. Follow the rules..protein first, no liquids before, during or after and exercise. No one said it was easy, you have to work at it, but when you do it the right way, the rewards will come. Good luck to you!
  3. It is a testament to our strength when we sacrifice for our children, I applaud you and hope it all works out for the best. Like the luckydog, hoping you have a wonderful happy and healthy new year.
  4. I almost peed my pants reading your witty comments. And like all, I'm glad you can laugh! Happy day to ya.
  5. I was hoping to cop a view of the kitchen tool tree too! Oh well, maybe another post! Looks absolutely lovely and I LOVE the deep crimson in your dining room! Fabulous!
  6. Wow August BANDit's are rocking it! I'm past the 'sweet spot' and excited to see my dr. on Dec 16 for an adjustment. At this point, it should be for an unfill. I got 4cc for my first fill and 1cc for my second. Since about 7 days after the 2nd fill, I can't eat anything early in the day and sometimes water hurts. I get a heartburn feeling and a yucky full painful feeling as my food travels downward. I wanted to get in for the unfill sooner, but with the holiday schedule of my dr and my work travel, we had to settle for the 16th. Now, it's been a few weeks and it is getting marginally better, but still some pain with eating and drinking. This has helped kick up the weight loss, but I don't think the dr will see this as a positive side effect!
  7. Catching up on your blogs, congrats on the great loss! You really did rock it this time with all the diversions going on and still respectable loss in a good amount of time. Only 3 heads left...can you believe it??? You'll be at goal before your bandiversary...mark my words!!
  8. BG-you can always put it in perspective for us. The band works if we work the band. Life has been crazy for me too and no exercise has stalled things for me as well. I'm not gaining, though! Enjoy the day and stay the course.
  9. I have two fills going on with a total of 5ccs in my Realize Band. I posted on my blog about the heartburn-y tightness in my chest feeling I get often. It doesn't always center around eating, but I've never had it before and I'm eating Waaaay less. Losing well, (maybe too well, if that's possible) but in the back of my mind, I'm thinking, this is the sweet spot...it just hurts right now. (thinking bitch slap)! I'll probably give the dr's office a shout and see if I should be worried. I'm really not! Doing good on the losing right now, and not looking for another fill any time soon.

Welcome to BandLand! It's a great place. Kathy is right, YOU need to come first now, take care of yourself and don't do too much too soon. Best of luck.

You know, maybe you aren't getting enough calories? Seems crazy, but your body does need them to get into metabolism mode...at least if you were keeping track you'd know and would have something to discuss with your surgeon at your next fill appt. Just some 'food' for thought..hehehee. Good luck.
  12. Come on Farrah, enough already! You look sooo good and I'm with the rest of the group, the jeans don't fit. Your arms are thin, it looks like you've shrunk nicely and won't be needing a visit to the nip/tuck guys at all. Way to go girl.
  13. Howdy Ya'll- I'm happy to report nearly 27 lbs lost total from my highest weight. I was banded 8/27 and got a 4cc fill on 9/30. I was in for my 6 week nutrition appt and had lost nearly 4 lbs since the fill. I get fuller faster now, with the little restriction i've got going on, but still know that more is needed. My next fill is 10/21 and I just hope to continue losing until then. I'm not exercising much, always have good intentions, just never follow through. I'm going to get better. My clothes fit better and looser now, hoping to toss some of my big stuff soon, but still able to wear everything, just more comfortably.
  14. You look soo good. Even all bundled, you can really see some great progress. The grand canyon is on our traveling list, I'll wait til I'm in hiking shape to get serious about planning that trip. Keep up the great work..a loss on vacation..who knew?
  15. Great advice, from what I've seen of just the different pre-op diets, there are lots of different opinions on every detail and only our doctors know best.

You so crazy girl! Keep up the good work, I'm hearing sweet spot for you! My first fill is set for Sept 30. Looking forward to some restriction.

No lightning for you! Keeping good thoughts and wishes coming your way for a wonderful new opportunity! And just how much of that celebratory cake are you planning to eat?? :smile2:
  18. I too was banded last Thursday and my experience is nothing like yours. I guess we are all different, but I took no pain meds at all, have been eating my pre op diet foods when i thought I needed them. I've felt little or no real hunger and I'm being really careful not to irritate my new band. Popsicles are my friend too, but I'm careful not to overdo it. Yogurt is easy, applesauce, not so much. I eat soups for lunch and dinner and don't force anything that isn't feeling right. Good luck, we're all in this together. Hope things start looking up for you soon.
  19. So glad you are back my friend! So sorry about your band issues, but if anyone can nail down the problem and solution, I know it is you. talk to you soon, looking forward to some catch up blogs from ya!
  20. Hey ya'll, I was banded on thursday, 8/27 and feel pretty good. Doing what I can to stay hydrated, eating applesauce, yogurt and protein shakes. A little only, but enough that I'm not hungry. I'm feeling ok, no gas pain, no incision pain and just sleeping on and off when I feel like it. Looking forward to increasing my intake. I enjoy hearing from other bandsters about their journey.
  21. I hadn't chimed in yet since my surgery was at the end of the month. I'm banded now and started at 312 (my highest) and prior to surgery I was a 296. We'll call that today's weigh in and i'll check back next friday with an update!

I live in Grapevine and will be banded next week at Baylor Gvine. Congrats to you and you should check out some of the August 2009 Bandsters posts. We love to know all about each other and help track our successes. Congrats to you and where do you live? I'm Kathi.
  23. Miss K- Congrats and I'll be there myself soon enough. Still on the liquid wagon and will be very happy when that is over with. Looking forward to more info on your experience. Rest up!
  24. Doc told me he'd be putting the port sorta in between the girls...now I'm thinking, after I've lost some wieght and the girls are really sag bags, maybe it would make more sense to have to port UNDER one of them, kinda stealth-like! I'll have to discuss! AS usual, BG, you inform AND entertain!
  25. just sit back and think where you'd be today without the band! Ahh, puts it all in perspective huh! I start liquids again tomorrow! And I'm actually looking forward to it! Don't stress, you're in ONEderland! hugs!
