Dr. Farid Kehdy - The best surgeon...ever!

Recommended Posts

Dr. Kehdy seemed kind and capable when I met him for the first time, but as time has gone on I have developed a deep respect for him. He is a wonderful surgeon and addresses all my concerns no matter how small. He is extremely thorough in gathering information about lifestyle and habits post operatively to help you be as successful as possible. He makes Norton's program look good. I feel blessed to have lucked out and gotten such a great surgeon. He is extremely competent and definitely knows his stuff and his bedside manner is fabulous. He also has a great sense of humor, something I find so rare in most physicians. The office staff is friendly, but takes their time while you are still in the "approval" and surgery scheduling phase. Some days they get a little backed up in the office and I may wait up to 20 minutes and the parking is ALWAYS full, but I consider myself lucky if those are the only complaints I've had.

I am from Louisville and I am getting ready to get banded. I am going to Norton's as well.. Maybe we can be pals and keep each other going as we lose all this terrible weight. I just attended the seminar so it will be a little while before I get the band. Good Luck and I know you will reach your goal!!

I am from the Southern Indiana area and hope to be banded within the next 3 months by Dr. Lankford! It would be nice to hear about how things are going ...I am going through my physician for the pre-op supervised diet so I havent had a lot of experience with the weight loss center!:-)

Cadee-It is sooo good to hear from you. I met w/Dr. Lankford last week. I just got a good vibe from her ever since the seminar. I have been attending the monthly support groups w/the wt loss center-they are held the 1st Monday of the month at 7pm. I started attending early-I think I was in my 4th(of 6 months, req'd by my insurance)month. I also have learned that the rooms we will stay in after surgery (at Floyd) are on the brand new addition-Very nice and Very large and each room is Private-I think this is a great plus from what I've been reading about other folks having an obnoxious roommates. Dr. Lankford does surgery ONLY on Mondays, and she does require a 24hr stay at Floyd, which in the long-run is probably good. Lets Definitely keep in touch. If you want, send me a private message-I do not know how to do that. ut if you figuer it out, email me and then I'll give you my private email...I'm so glad you wrote in.

Hi All..... I am just starting my process of the lap band. I am waiting for my referral from Tricare Prime to meet with the surgeon, but I am thinking of changing Drs after Tricare sends back my referral to get started. I was going to see Dr. John Olsofka, but I would rather see a Dr on the east side, not south side... just much closer for me. I am thinking of changing it to Dr. Kehdy. Is he at Norton Suburban on Dutchman? I hope and pray when I meet with the Dr I choose, he will do everything he can to get my paperwork qualified through Tricare Prime. I am 5'4" and weigh around 208 lbs and I have high cholesterol and fatty liver and trouble sleeping, get out of breath easy, no energy, have trouble with my knees (from weight) so I am hoping with all of this, the Dr chosen will get me qualified. After (being positive here lol) I get qualified, how long does it usually take to be scheduled for surgery? Can anyone tell me about the eating the first week after surgery and then how is the eating for the first month? What was anyone's results of weight loss after just a month? I am trying to read up on all this as much as I can. I will check my email lots to see if I get any responses. Best of luck to all ya'll and best of everything in 2011. I would love to meet new friends also. I am a stay at home mother of grown kids, and I really don't have many friends... I am a stay home all the time type person and would love to meet new girlfriends to hang out with. :-)

Talk soon :-)

Donna

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
