I have to be unfilled?

Recommended Posts

I talked to my Dr.'s nurse this morning and she says that the doctor automatically unfills everyone. She's going to double check with him tomorrow but she thinks that's the plan of action. Do I have to do this if I don't want to? I feel great right now. I'm eating well (finally) and don't have any heartburn or anything. What's the harm in continuing?

My dr let me make the decision. Stand up for yourself and maybe offer to take out a little and keep in touch about what you're feeling. Some people get really nauseated and need to be unfilled. I let them take out just a little bit and I have gained about 25 pounds- which I am okay with. It's nice to be able to eat some during the pregnancy- but I can't wait to lose it again!

my doc did a complete unfill, but only because they have had patients in the past where the band has slipped and they don't discover it till after the baby is born, because they don't do xrays on your tummy while your pregnant...

its should be your decision though

but thats what my doc told me, and that was good enough for me...and a complete unfill hasn't been as disasterous as i thought...i got unfilled at 5 weeks, and now at 11 weeks, i've lost 5 lbs since that unfill.

I agree with Anyalee! This is your body, your band, your decision. Me and my doc seem to be in the minority of stories I've heard, in that he doesn't believe in unfills during pregnancy, and neither do I. I'm almost 7 months in now, and have not unfilled. Yes, my band has tempermental days/phases where it's a bit tight, but usually it means I have to take a few bites, wait 15 min, then eat like usual. A tip: waiting until you're starving/ravenous/gurgling is gonna make your band feel tighter. There is air that gathers in your belly and it tries to travel up the band while food is traveling down, and that can make you stuck or feel tight.

If you feel good, keep that fill!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
