Help I start my 2 week pre op liquid diet 4/15

I am very nervous about this pre op liquid diet... 2 weeks, no food, today I feel like I have to eat everything in site. :)

My surgery is scheduled for 4/29. They said I would be on a liquid diet for about a month. Does anyone have any suggestions, did you feel this way? Is it really as bad as I am making it out to be? Please any suggestions are more than appreciated!

Cindy

The first 2-3 days were difficult for me, but...I kept with it, and next thing you know it got easier. I did have a glass of champagne on New Years Eve, but other than that I didn't cheat - I started my preop on 12/29.

Once you realize you are so close to surgery and that you can jeopardize the surgery and or make your recovery that much harder, it is easier to stick with it. As for liquids post surgery - well, that was the real easy part for me, as I had no interest in eatting for at least 10 days. No interest at all. Hoping you get through it - you can do this! You can!

OK, first is it really all liquid? Mine was a Liver Shrink with high protein and included a sandwich of 97% deli meat. I used the sugar free popsciles to give me the sweet, drank lots of crystal lite type drink, and yogurt keep me happy. It was not bad, and key is to do MIND OVER MATTER!!!

I started my liquid diet on 4/10 and it is not as bad as I thought it would be. Lots of slim-fast, sugarfree jello, water, crystal light. My surgery is Monday the 20th so I am almost half way home. You will do fine.
