Good luck to you! You will be quite uncomfortable for about 4 days or so but after that you will be on the road to recovery.

Congrats on making this life changing decision. I don't regret my decision for 1 minute!

I was nervous too, but it really is an easy surgery, and the recovery after is minimal too, although I wasn't about to turn away the pampering! :glare:

I didn't bring anything to the hospital with me, just wore slip on shoes and loose baggy clothing, the clothes I wore were the ones I ended up sleeping in that night because I was so groggy, so wear something comfy. Oh and I brought chapstick because I am lost without it!

Good luck!! And congratulations!!

Good Luck!!!

If you aren't spendng the night then I recommend bring as little as possible. Wear something comfy and easy to slip on and slip on shoes.

And Remember to Walk Walk Walk after surgery....the sooner u are up and moving the better your recovery. My Dr asked my just before we went into surgery...."what are u supposed to do today?" I said "rest"....he said NO, WALK....lol

My thoughts will be with you tomorrow.

Hey there, I just had my surgery last Tuesday March 31st. Let me tell you once you get past the first day with the restricted Water intake and such you will be fine. I wore my pajamas and slippers to the hospital and left the next day in the same items, then went home and showered.

Congrats on the big step....

Me too! My surgery is at 1:00 so by this time tomorrow I will be in (out of) recovery and it will be done!!! I hadn't heard of the GAS X strips but I think I am on my way now to the pharmacy.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 and surgery should be around 7:00. I am getting more than a little nervous but I cant wait for it to be over. I am mostly afraid of the anesthesia as I have never been put to sleep before. I will let you know tomorrow night how I made out. Thanks everyone.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
