I don't know why you have chosen going to Monterrey but you may want to think about possibly going to a Dr. in TJ. You can fly into San Diego and they'll pick you up on the US side. I have my scheduled surgery with Dr. Ortiz in TJ. And from what I have found he is one of the BEST in the industry. And is a member of the FACS and American Bariatric. And I have had American Dr's say that I am in good hands.

Not trying to convert by any means, but thought you'd maybe like to see another point of view. Good luck!

Dr Rumbuat is also a member of the American Biartric as well as the International Federation surgery of Obesity. He came highly recommended by Inamed and has trained a lot of the Drs here in the US. He is on the same level as other Drs like Ortiz and Kuri. I considered all three of them but chose Rumbuat because of his single incision approach. My second choice was Dr Kuri because I just really liked him when I talked to him a few times over the phone. He seemed to really care deeply about his patients. If Kuri did the single insicion I probably would have gone to him because of his bedside manor. I think all three of these Drs in Mexico are beyond qualified and pioneers of this surgery. I honestly chose my Dr over the other two because of my vanity. I hope someday after my 8,000$ works for me I can get back into a bikini and I dont want to have five scares. The bikini is probably wishful thinking, but hey! We can all dream right?! lol

Hi! I just got my flights booked and my date is May 15th with Dr. Ortiz at the OCC in TJ. I am so excited and nervous. Anyone else seeing Dr. Ortiz that weekend? Are ya'll staying at the Marriot or the Hotel Lucerna? Any advice?

I am going the next weekend. Sugery on the 22nd. Staying at the Marriott... let me/us know how it is!!! Good luck!

I'm Scheduled for May 8th...my wife will be going first, on april 17th, just one week from now!

Good Luck to the both of u!!

Hi Everyone!!!

I have a date too! May 13th!!!! Whoo Hoo!

My surgery was scheduled for May 15th, and I got the approval from the insurance, so its a go!!!!! I can't wait!

I'm Danielle in SC. I am scheduled for May 6. I started my low-fat, sugar-free liquid diet yesterday. So far, so good.

My surgery date is May 7, 2009! I start my liquid diet tomorrow, I am soo scared!! Anyone have ideas?!?!

On my two Protein shakes and lean cusine pre-op diet i split up my shakes as well as my lean cusine meals that way I won't feel depressed after I eat all of my dinner! Good luck it's hard the first couple of days but after that you get used to it!
