OH Juli's Plastic Surgery

Recommended Posts

Juli: Glad you survived. The arms are hard to deal with, but they will feel much much better very soon! Enjoy the numbing effects of the drugs and rest as much as you can. It will all be better in a few days! Welcome to the flatlands!

Okay,

Let's talk details the best I can.

He cut off 18 pounds of skin. 15 from my belly. The rest was from my arms and side boobies. He mentioned to my SO that my abs were muscular. Go me! Workout girl that I am.

I wonder if I'll get a 6 pack? That's a super goal!

I was wearing a 38D bra and know they are so much smaller now but I don't know what size they are going to be. The girls are looking perky though!

My booty is tiny, my hips are narrow. And my arms are going to look uber buff when the bruising and stiches heal. Again, because I'm a gym rat and my muscles are tight; I'm so pleased.

Which brings me back to the whole thing about working out. It's been my saving grace this entire weightloss process. The relationships I've developed with gym people are amazing, the comfort I get from sweating, the ability to eat chocolate and not gain weight, seeing my body do things it's never done before, and NOW having surgery and being better able to move around I'm so glad.

Oh and I had my first poop today. So it's all good.

I see my surgeon on Tuesday and hopefully the drains will come out. :blushing:

Juli: I, too, remember how happy I was that I had done so many squats. It really helps to get up and down when you can use your quads and gluts. I bet the arms feel a lot better nw, don't they?!

Hey Juli,

It sounds like you are doing really well. Reading your post made me so glad that I spend the HOURS I do at the gym. Hopefully, when my surgery is done I too will be tiny. Can't wait until you are able to post your pics, you are really an inspiration, just wanted you to know that.

Okay, so I just got off the phone with my PS's office, and they have moved my date UP. I will be having my "work" done May 7th now instead of the 22nd. OMG, I am so nervous and excited all at the same time. Wonder what I will look like when this is all over, will I (please, please) be tiny? God, I hope so.

I got my drains out today which if you ask me is a bit premature. But my surgeon said I'd feel better and he'd just drain me in a week anyway, so might as well...

Aside from that all my sutures are looking good. They are just pulling apart a bit in my left underarm, again he wasn't surprised and says its common.

I saw 163 on the scale today or 162. I'm not minus 18 from the surgery day so I know much of this is Water retention and swelling from surgery.

I'm continually surprised to look down and not see my belly...it's something else.

Tracymom that's great news!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
