Go to user CP - one of the tabs at the top of the home page. It took me a while to figure everything out, and I am still working it out. Today I used the ticker by going to the link that you see above the ticker weight loss results. Good luck!

What are you getting to eat 7 days post op? I know every doc seems to be different.

I had my pre-surgery meeting today and signed my surgery consent form.

I am so depressed and did I mention in pain.....Can anyone tell me what our calories should be at and protein......

The weight gain is fine, when you have an IV you are pumped full of fluids which can make you gain water weight, it did that to me too, no worries. I have been in alot of pain too, I had surgery on Friday and today is the first day it hasn't been as bad. Its still hurts though, for me its been my throat and gas pains. Hang in there, it can only get better right?

shoes,

have you tried sucking on hard candy? That really seemed to help that dry mouth feeling i was having.

I returned to teaching on the Monday following my surgery on Thursday. Monday was fine, but today I fell like a wet rag and am experiencing some diarreha (sorrry about the spelling), so today is not going as well. I am determined not to miss any school because if this. The good news is I am down 15 lbs! Keep up the good work and good luck to those about to get banded!

I was given a band to wear around my stomach to hold everything in place! I wear it all the time, and it really seems to help. I even have extra padding over my port site to help support it better. Are you doing that? Hope this helps!

The band around the waist sounds like it would be a good thing....I will try 2 find one and thanks for all of you guys helpful suggestions.....I really really hope it was the iv fluids that put 5 pounds on me.......So what kinda calories are yall doing and how much protein.....So far I have only taken in 100 cal...yesterday and 80 today....Man all of the brooth is crazy with the sodium......

Hi there,

I was banded 7 days ago, for the first 48 hours I felt as if I had an elephant sitting on my chest, every intake of breath was sore, my breathing was laboured and breathes were short, the nurses told me to breath slowly and take long 'normal' breathes, I tried really hard to do this and had to concentrate to succeed. After 48 hours it was only a horse that was sitting on me now! Gradually the pain has moved to my chest, shoulder and shoulder blad area, it has been very bad and the only way to get relief was to go to bed and actually lie on the offending area, after a while I can get up and feel normal for a couple of hours, I am fine in the morning. I have been told that when they operate they have to pump your body with 'gas', I think it's just air, so as that they can operate, the pain is caused by this 'gas' dispersing throughout your body! I am now feeling pain in my middle back!

I hope your pain goes, I know how bad it is!

All the best, take care

Fatpanta

Swisskaese,

Good luck with your surgery. If you are not on a restrictive diet right now, try to reduce your intake of food between now and "D" day. I wasn't on any restrictions and ate a good-sized meal the night before surgery. Not a good idea :-(
