Calling All MARCH '09 Bandsters - We need a name!
Hi, I can relate to most of you. I too only lost 3 lbs the last month before my fill. I had my first fill yeterday 1 1/2 cc in a 10 cc band and don't feel any restriction yet. I lost 30 lbs on Atkins before surgery and 13 lbs since the surgery for a total of 43 lbs. My dr. only wants meeating a cup of food three times a day and drinking a lot except during meals and no eating in between meals. I get frustrated too sometimes with how slow it is going, but I am down 2 clothes sizes and riding my bike or walking or doing the Wii Fit everyday. I also try to look at the big picture and stay focused as my family is very supportive and that helps too. I wish all my March bander buddies the best of luck on their journey and will keep all of you n my thoughts and prayers! You go girls!

How are all the March 09 Lucky Losers doing? Updates everyone!
Hi, I feel pretty good, but I am feeling hungry in between my meals. I called my Dr. and they said to up my protein. That is helped some but not alot. I have my first fill on April 29th. I lost 30 lbs before my surgery, 10 lbs the first two weeks or postop and nothing the last two weeks. Ugh! My Dr. said this is normal before a fill, but I hate not losing anything.

About chewing gum; My Dr. did recommend that I not chew gum because if you accidentally swallow it, it may become stuck and have to be surgically removed and I am not taking that chance. However, I would have not even thought of this if he hadn't pointed it out to me.

I hear you about the liquid diet stuff. I was on them for 5 days preop and I have to do them for until Monday for a total of two weeks postop. I was getting light headed early in the week so I have had some yogurt and some pudding, both fatfree. I have only been walking also.

Hi, This is pretty much the same standard my Dr. goes by, but I have noticed plenty of lapbanders are allowed to start their soft foods earlier then the 2-3 week recommendation.

Dear Pezo, Hang in there. I too did gain a few lbs right after, but it is from the IVs. My pain was mostly in my throat and my surgical sites when I tried to rollover. I am now into day 9 postop and feel pretty good, but tire easily. I am still on a liquid diet though per my surgeon's instructions. It will all settle down for you.

3 days Post op
I am feeling pretty good today. Actually, starting to feel hungry which is good as the last two days I drank my clear liquids and ate my jello and popsicles just because I knew if I didn't I would become dehydrated. The body functions are all working good and the bloating from the surgery seems to be going down. Turning over in bed in the hardest thing yet, but gettng better. I am on a pain med, but don't take it as often as I can as I don't feel I need it. Thanks for everyone's support.
