  1. No, but i'm going on the 6 July 2010. You did this quote ages ago, have you now been? I would be really interested in hearing from you! Fatpants
  2. My god! Lucky you! I cant't believe you've lost a stone in 14 days. Mind you I can't believe it was only 14 days ago we were in that hospital! Well done you, what a great job you've done! I don't think I'm doing well with the weight loss, the chocolate still slips down! I didn't realise before the operation that we would still have those temptations! I am trying to eat soups and things like that but I just find it so hard when there chocolate! I wish my scales didn't break and I knew exactly how much I was loosing then I would be more encouraged! You would think I was a child, but I just have no discipline! Did Frederik phone to see how you were getting on? Fatpants
  3. Hi there, I was banded 7 days ago, for the first 48 hours I felt as if I had an elephant sitting on my chest, every intake of breath was sore, my breathing was laboured and breathes were short, the nurses told me to breath slowly and take long 'normal' breathes, I tried really hard to do this and had to concentrate to succeed. After 48 hours it was only a horse that was sitting on me now! Gradually the pain has moved to my chest, shoulder and shoulder blad area, it has been very bad and the only way to get relief was to go to bed and actually lie on the offending area, after a while I can get up and feel normal for a couple of hours, I am fine in the morning. I have been told that when they operate they have to pump your body with 'gas', I think it's just air, so as that they can operate, the pain is caused by this 'gas' dispersing throughout your body! I am now feeling pain in my middle back! I hope your pain goes, I know how bad it is! All the best, take care Fatpanta
  4. Hi big bones, This is Fatpants, I have spoken with Jewy, we're all being banded on the same day in Brussels! You are doing really well on your low fat diet, I can't believe you've lost 12 lbs, you must be really strict. I had lost 8 lbs but I lapsed yesterday and ate chocolate, I've now put some back on, I'm going to be really strict now! Take care, presumably see you soon! Fatpants
  5. Don't be sad Munger, this operation is going to make you better - then you can get the band later. Chin up girl! fatpants
  6. I have been OK so far, it helps that it's lent and I made the kids give up chocolate, although they get Sundays off, and I have a stash of chocolate that's been given to the kids in my wardrobe that they can have then, but I have been having dreams about it! I have basically stopped eating anything that requires buttering as it is just too much for me to resist Lurpak! Tonight I ate a chip off my husbands plate and all I could taste was oil so I didn't have anotherone! I decided not to punish myself with anything like slimfast as we'll soon have no choice! Why does everyone drink slimfast anyway, is it because of the minerals and vitimins? Take care Fatpants
  7. Hi jewy, How are you coping on the low fat diet? I was worried about it but it seems to be going fine. I wasn't sure what low fat meant, so I e-mailed the doctor and he just the less fat the better! So I am only taking skimmed milk, no butter or cheese, obviously no sweets, chocolate or anything fried in oil. I'm trying only to eat lean meat, loads of veg etc...basically cutting out everything with fat in it. What have you been doing? I see you've lost 4lbs, well done, I seem to have lost some weight too. I started thinking maybe I can do this myself without the band, reality struck, how long would I ;ast before I lapsed. At least with the band lapses are control in quantity! Take care Fatpants
  8. What is included in the mommy makeover? I am getting worried about what happens to your body after getting the band and losing lots of weight. I had promised my husband that after the band and a tummy tuck I would stop. I have been watching a girl on utube, she's called massagegoddess, she has done a video dairy of her journey,,,gastric band and tummy tuck, but she seems to have a lot of loose skin round her back under her arms. This has made me look more closely at myself...I think I'll also need my arms & boobs done! The massagegoddess has not had any kids, but I have, I've had six, my boobs are 4 times the size they were when I got married, at the moment I am happy with them and wouldn't change them but I expect after losing 80lbs they might end up in sacks down to my waist! Take care Fatpants
  9. I love your name Fab by 50, that's me, I am determined not to be fat at 50, I want to be a yummy mummy by 50, my youngest kids will be 10 when I turn 50, I don't want to be fat and lethargic, I want to be slim and full of energy! Lets go for it! Fatpants
  10. Dear Munger, I am sorry to hear that you have had to postpone your surgery - but just look on the bright side - no more of the treaded curse!!!! I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago, it's a strange feeling having this operation done, but my womb was well used, if not over used! 6 children and 3 misscariages, I have not looked back, it is such a relief not having to go through that monthly cycle! I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery, try and have a vaginal hysterectomy, I did and not only is it one less scar on your body, but the recovery time is much faster. What us women have to go through, men don't realise, they've got it made! You take care of yourself Fatpants
  11. Wow, you are 2lbs below your target! How do you feel to have achieved this? My worry is that after losing the weight it'll cause lots of lose skin. The reason I am having the band is to help me lose weight so as that I can have a tummy tuck, but I've started thinking I'll need a boob job, my bingo wings, and god knows what else!!!!! Take Care and well done in your success! Fatpants
  12. Hi munger, Remember me? We're having our surgery the same day. From reading all the blogs it seems to me that it's only in the USA you have to go on a liquid diet. Here in the UK, we have to go on a low fat diet for 2 weeks pre-op. I started mine on the 3rd and I've lost 5lbs4oz already! Take care Fatpants
  13. Dear Tinakins, I can't believe you've lost 13lbs on your pre-op diet, are you starving yourself? Please tell me what you have been eating on your pre-op diet. I start mine on the 3rd of march and I'm not sure what you eat apart from low fat, I wondered if you just buy anything that says 'low fat' on it? Please will you let me know! Thank you Penelope
  14. I have tried to NOT come on this laptalk site as I feel I am becoming obsessed with reading all the notices, it's this first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do at night, I ussually check during the day too! I feel as if I have put my 'life' on hold and all I think about is the pre-op diet, the journey & the op., I don't seem to be able to focus on anything else. I have actually changes my ticker to an op. count down ticker instead of a weight ticker, I have 24 days to go till I get my op., it seems like for ever, I remember when I got my date for the the op. I was so excited, and at the time it seemed so soon, now I feel as if I have been waiting for ever! I've almost got by bag packed and ready to go....it's so sad...I do have a life....
  15. Fantastic, thank you for letting me know! I've been looking out for other people going over on the same day as me. Where are you flying from? I'm flying from Gatwick, even though Heathrow has cheaper flights, I can't get flights to Heathrow. Where are you staying, I'm staying at Hotel CAMPANILE - Vilvoorde, it's about a 10 minute walk from the hospital. Frederik is coming to see me at the hotel at 6:15am to do paper work & Payment then he's taking me to the hospital. Have you been given any details yet? I am not nervous, I'm just derperate to get it over with so as that I can still eating and turning into a balloon! Jewy and bigbones I am so happy to hear that from you, we should compare notes like weight, our goals etc......
  16. Hi Everyone, I have been posting on a thread called 'anyone know Dr Chris De Bruyne' he is a doctor who performs the band sugery in Belgium, a lot of people like me from UK go there to have their surgery as it costs a fraction of the price if you had surgery in UK. Anyway I see you have all mastered the art of tickery! Well done, I would just like to know how a thinner me has already lost 17lbs and surgery is not scheduled until the 23/3! Well done, what have you been doing? As you can see from my ticker I have lost no weight so far, actually I have most likely been putting it on as since I got my date for surgery 17 March I have become more obsessed with food then ever,,,eating everything in sight! Anyway I hope to lose a little when I start my pre-op diet on the 3 March. I look forward to joining all of you 'March Melters' and lets hope the name is a good omen and we do all 'melt' away!!!
  17. Hi fixin2notbfat, good name! I'm being done on the 3 of March too! With Dr Chris in Belgium, where are you being done? Fatpants
  18. Hi there Jewy and Big Bones, I'm being banded by Dr Chris on the 17th too, where are you flying from, and which hotel are you staying at? We'll most likeky meet in hospital! Fatpants
  19. Hi Ashley, I'm being banded on the 17th too! Where are you getting your op done? fatpants!
  20. Hi there all Marchers! I have been given a date for the 17th March, is anyone else going on that date? Are going alone or with someone? I'm going to Dr Chris De Bruyne in Brussels and I'm Flying from Gatwick on the 16th.
