When I tried the lighter life diet my body went into ketosis too, and I think what Garry said is true, it's your body using fat for fuel. Fatpants

Dear Freckles, Are you sure that a photo of you 2 hours AFTER an operation, as Viktor Meldrew would say "I can't believe it!" You look as if your at a spa getting all dollied up, and it's actually a wee G&T going in instead of the morphine! My goodness if we all look as well as you do, we'll be all singing and dancing. I hope your mother enjoyed her wee break in her favorite "hotel", I'm sure she'll be happy to see you looking so well. Take care now Fatpants

No I'm n ot nervous, well actually I am nervouse about the pre-op diet, I just want to get the band fitted and over and done with. When I got my date I was excited and it seemed really soon, but it seems like an eternity now! Men don't always gop for looks, but this guy must have cos you are a looker, I think you have stunning looks, very distinct, and the I bet the irish accent must turn him on! So remind me how much you've lost since your op in September, just so I can start dreaming about the new me and taking up pole dancing. I tell you that would be some sight! The pole would probably buckle under the strain! fatpants:tt2:

Just having my evening fix, to see what everyone's chatting about and what you've all been up to! Well what can I say, I have left my 11 year old alone in the house while I've popped out to the corner shop (probably to buy Chocolate!), but it's only to the corner shop and strasight back again! I've never left the younger ones though, I think you should be able to know if you can trust them or not. Personnaly I think we, my husband and I are way over protective with our kids, our 10 year old daughter walked home alone from a friends house, about 2 or 3 blocks away, it was just getting dark and she got a right bollocking for it, we thought she was coming back with friends. WQe don't mind them going out in pairs with friends or together but never alone, and we must know exactly where they are going and what time they'll be home. I don't care if we are over protective, it only takes one time and they could be gone forever. They'll be grown up for a long time, they're only kids for a short while..... Well the cakes are all gone, I only had several slices...promise! Fatpants

Hi everyone, did you all have a good weekend? Hey Gillian you seemed to have an eventful weekend, what ever happened to the two boys, it must have been exciting watching all the activity...did you manage the walk as well? Here I am getting my midday fix! Just can't help myself it's like putting down a good book, you think about worried as if you might be missing something, as if the book continues while you're not reading it...anyway it's better to keep on top of things instead of having a marathon catch up.... I just made three cakes, banana, maple and ginger and rock cake...and of course I'll probably eat most of them as the kids probably won't like them! Take of yourself Fatpants

Hi Gillian, Sounds like you had fun at the chinese! What I am inquisitive about is: do you feel the food getting stuck quite soon after eating it? Or, does it take a while? Have you ever been sick since getting the band. I remember seeing a documentary about someone getting the band fitted and they were sick cos they ate too much!? Just wondering. This is me just getting my last FIX of the day! Fatpants

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Hi everyone! THANK YOU ALL! FOR YOUR RESPONSES TO MY POST! I now understand why this site is an addiction, everyone on it understands, the people around us just don't get it! I feel I can't talk to my friends and family because they just don't understand! After I booked my op with Frederik, I told my husband I would just go alone, I told him I felt I just needed to do this myself. I really felt that: a) it would be easier, not having to arrange baby sitters for 5 kids, someone to B&B sit so we don't lose business. I thought my husband would just do the B&B, this way we are not losing business. c) My poor husband won't be alone, hanging about waiting while I'm in hospital and then doing the same while I'm resting after the op in the hotel room. d) I also thought it was selfish of me to expect my husband to come with me, thus spending lots more money, my flights cost £300, so that would be the same again for him, plus I just booked the hotel room for the two nights I need it so we would need the room for the night I'm in hospital and all his meals, anyway I just thought it would save money and favours if I went myself! Anyway it transpires he doesn't intend doing B&B, he's just going to clase for the time I'm away. So, I said that he may as well come with me in that case and I explained why I said I would go by myself. His response was that he felt I had cut him out, and that he would think about it,,,weather or not he'll come with me! I think he would rather spend the money on his bike! Well it's Sunday morning and I've got kids moaning at me, one child returning from a sleepover at 11, one twin going to a party at 12, another child got a friend coming round at 1, a friends kids being dropped off at 12, I told the other twin I would do something special with her (so she doesn't feel left out of the party), and to top it all my husbands walking about with a crooked back!!!!! Have a nice Sunday!

Calling All MARCH '09 Bandsters - We need a name!
Dear Tinakins, I can't believe you've lost 13lbs on your pre-op diet, are you starving yourself? Please tell me what you have been eating on your pre-op diet. I start mine on the 3rd of march and I'm not sure what you eat apart from low fat, I wondered if you just buy anything that says 'low fat' on it? Please will you let me know! Thank you Penelope

I have tried to NOT come on this laptalk site as I feel I am becoming obsessed with reading all the notices, it's this first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do at night, I ussually check during the day too! I feel as if I have put my 'life' on hold and all I think about is the pre-op diet, the journey & the op., I don't seem to be able to focus on anything else. I have actually changes my ticker to an op. count down ticker instead of a weight ticker, I have 24 days to go till I get my op., it seems like for ever, I remember when I got my date for the the op. I was so excited, and at the time it seemed so soon, now I feel as if I have been waiting for ever! I've almost got by bag packed and ready to go....it's so sad...I do have a life....

Fantastic, thank you for letting me know! I've been looking out for other people going over on the same day as me. Where are you flying from? I'm flying from Gatwick, even though Heathrow has cheaper flights, I can't get flights to Heathrow. Where are you staying, I'm staying at Hotel CAMPANILE - Vilvoorde, it's about a 10 minute walk from the hospital. Frederik is coming to see me at the hotel at 6:15am to do paper work & Payment then he's taking me to the hospital. Have you been given any details yet? I am not nervous, I'm just derperate to get it over with so as that I can still eating and turning into a balloon! Jewy and bigbones I am so happy to hear that from you, we should compare notes like weight, our goals etc......

Calling All MARCH '09 Bandsters - We need a name!
Hi Everyone, I have been posting on a thread called 'anyone know Dr Chris De Bruyne' he is a doctor who performs the band sugery in Belgium, a lot of people like me from UK go there to have their surgery as it costs a fraction of the price if you had surgery in UK. Anyway I see you have all mastered the art of tickery! Well done, I would just like to know how a thinner me has already lost 17lbs and surgery is not scheduled until the 23/3! Well done, what have you been doing? As you can see from my ticker I have lost no weight so far, actually I have most likely been putting it on as since I got my date for surgery 17 March I have become more obsessed with food then ever,,,eating everything in sight! Anyway I hope to lose a little when I start my pre-op diet on the 3 March. I look forward to joining all of you 'March Melters' and lets hope the name is a good omen and we do all 'melt' away!!!

Thanx for that mmm £100 is quite a lot, I might go have a look at them see how they feel, I like walking and would like to walk a lot more than I do now. We do go as a family on a Sunday hike but thats ussually up a hill or something like that where you need to wear walking boots. Yesterday we went for a walk which intailed going along a beach and up a hill on a path, but we got cut off by the tide and had to scale what seemed like a very steep mountain! With a belly like mine this was no mean feet!!!! I should really stick to normal walking! Love Fatpants:tongue:
