  1. Hi everyone, It's me Fatpants! Well I have to say that I have not been doing that great, my op area is fine just a little tender as it was bruised. It's the gas/air they pump into you during the op that has been giving me gip! Today is the first day I have not had to go to bed in order to control the pain. Every single day I have had to go to bed as the pain with the air/gas going into my shoulder and back has been so bad, it's been crippling and pain killers didn't help! Touch wood today is the first of many! A couple of days ago I made the mistake of eating two tiny pieces of pork chop which I chewed really well, stupid me! They did eventually go down but I had to drink some water to help them along. I have been feeling dizzy and light headed with just soup, smoothies and semolina, I also find it difficult to remember to drink 2 litres of water. I get easily tired and I feel quite deligate. Will all of this pass does anyone have any ideas? I am feeling fed up as ......my scales, which are digital, have been taking ages to set on my weight, and they keep lying to me telling different weights each time I go on them, so I changed the batteries, but it made no difference! I went into town today and bought a new pair, they say I am 8 lbs heavier than the last pair so I am feeling a little p***ed **f! Sorry for the lingo! Sorry I have not been keeping up with you all but I just haven't been feeling up to it! Fatpants :tongue_smilie:
  2. Hi everyone, I've got a few questions for all you pros! How many days after op can you: *Stop wearing the stockings? *Stop wearing dressings? *Start eating mashed food? *Normal food? So far I have been eating soup, semolina, and chocolate pudding (oops!), drinking tea & water. I seem to have 'stuff' on my tongue, it's all white and yuckie! Is this normal? Thanks for your help! Fatpants
  3. Hi there, I was banded 7 days ago, for the first 48 hours I felt as if I had an elephant sitting on my chest, every intake of breath was sore, my breathing was laboured and breathes were short, the nurses told me to breath slowly and take long 'normal' breathes, I tried really hard to do this and had to concentrate to succeed. After 48 hours it was only a horse that was sitting on me now! Gradually the pain has moved to my chest, shoulder and shoulder blad area, it has been very bad and the only way to get relief was to go to bed and actually lie on the offending area, after a while I can get up and feel normal for a couple of hours, I am fine in the morning. I have been told that when they operate they have to pump your body with 'gas', I think it's just air, so as that they can operate, the pain is caused by this 'gas' dispersing throughout your body! I am now feeling pain in my middle back! I hope your pain goes, I know how bad it is! All the best, take care Fatpanta
  4. I'm glad you got home okay, it sounds like you're doing okay. Sorry I missed you guys at the airport, I went to find the self serve check-in and couldn't find you again. The xray juice did take effect whilst at the airport! The journey past in a haze, I'm surprised I managed to get home in one piece I felt so light headed and dizzy! I am suffering really badly with the gas in my shoulder/back and brest area, Chris said it only lasts 3 days, but some have said it lasted up to 10 days! Say hi to Jewy for me. Fatpants
  5. Hi everyone I'm back! It's been 4 days, I've been to two countries, been in 4 airoplans, seen inside a hospital and a hotel, I only saw Brussels from the inside of a taxi. On the low fat diet I lost 8lbs4oz, I weighed myself today and I've lost a further 11lbs10oz, 20lbs altogether! I suffered really badly from the gas in the shoulder, the first 24 hours after surgery I felt as if I had an elephant sitting on my chest, my breathing was very laboured. For the last 2 days I have been wondering what the hell I have done the pain with the gas has been terrible, every time I breath in it's worse, which means I have been taking short breaths which I don't think is good for you. Yesterday I spent 8 hours in airports or on an airplan, I kept thinking that I night faint or have to ask for a wheel chair! I just took it slowly and I made it. I am just so happy to be home again, the last 4 days have been surreal! Today I have woken bright and early, feel great after my weigh in, now I understand my faintness, and no gas in the shoulder....but I'm sure it'll be back, I was told it lasts 3 days. Fatpants
  6. Hi guys, Three hours wait in gatwick while I change flights! I was bored so I thought I would just check out what everyone's been up to!
  7. Thank God for that then cos I'm only taking hand luggage! Thanks fatpants
  8. Thanks everyone for all your thoughts and good wishes, I think I'm all set now. See the injections you are given to bring home to self inject, the ones to stop blood clots, has anyone taken them as hand luggage, or do they have to go into the hold because of the needle? Fatpants
  9. Yep, a pal just brought round a magazine and a packet of mints! Fatpants
  10. Hi everyone! Well I'm just packing, but I can't think as my husband has got the kids running around, their having a cleaningathon! God sake, he really picks his moments, I just wanted a calm day with the kids! Anyway have I forgotten anything? flight tickets passport E111 (NHS health thing, just incase!) Hotel reservation Money cupasoup teabags a mug milk portions lucozade sweets nurofen melts nurofen tablets lipsalve arnica I figured the dressings, bio oil and senokot wouldn't be needed until my return, so am leaving them behind. I've got joggy bottoms for after the op and the return journey, I'm wearing slip on shoes to minimise bending down, I'm bring disposable slippers, nighty, change of undies (several obviously) and toiletteries. I have missed anything or do you recommend anything else? Having a hectic Sunday, but we are going out for a nice walk later. Fatpants
  11. Well between you and me bigsister, I had one of them aswell, I thought I better sort him out as he's getting a bit uptight! The kids are on edge as he won't let them rest until their rooms are immaculate! He's driving me mad! Fatpants
  12. Hi everyone, I am now preparing for my trip. Went to town to get my Euro's, what a crap rate, I should have got them 6 weeks ago when I booked my op, I thought I'd be clever and wait for a better rate, it cost me £200 more by waiting! This morning I had a cookathon! I made loads of food for my husband and the 5 kids, 2 lamb balti, 3 mince and tatties, 2 fish pies, sweet & sour chicken, chicken tonight thing (homemade though), I printed up labels with contents defrosting instructions, cooking instructions, and what he needs or can cook to go with it. who thinks I,m on a guilt trip? Tomorrow I just need to pack my bag and chill out with the family! My 10 yo daughter asked me if I was getting nervous, today I am not, but yeasterday counting out the money before going to change it in to euros I suddenly had a panic attack and had to get my husband to sit with me and discuss everything! I don't think I am nervous about the operation, I think I am nervous about spending all that money .........what if it doesn't work, or the band gets a hole..... does it cost the same to get it sorted? That is my panick, that's what makes me nervous! Take care all of you and thanks for all your wishes and thoughts. Fatpants

  17. Flirtylass, I can't believe you ate chips and can eat as much as you want, how on earth have you lost the weight? I thought chips would get trapped! Fatpants
  18. Hi Bigsister, What a good idea! But I think I'll just tease him to make him pay more attention! He used to say to my friends "I don't know why she goes on about her weight, I love her just the way she is" ye sure! Who wants to try rolling about with a huge lump when you can have a nice slim version? I think he just said that because he feels secure with his wee fat wify at home! Just wait, he better watch out, if he doesn't get his act in gear........well we'll see! Fatpants
  19. Flirtylass, you have done so well! I look forward to writing a message like yours! Take care Fatpants
  20. Hi Flirtylass, How are you doing, you know what they say "time flies when you are having fun" and you seem to have been having lots of it! So can I ask, how much have you lost to date? Fatpants

  23. Ow! You are so lucky! Romance is such a lovely thing. Will he be expecting a treat in return? Sorry, can't help myself! I know that that would be the case hear! It's not fair, my husband is such an Ogre and not a nice one like Shrek! He just says Bah hum bug to every thing! On Valentines day I gave him a nice romantic card, a bouquet of Roses and a box of chocolates, that was in the morning, in the evening I did a romantic candle lit dinner for two. What did he do....I hope you're not expecting anything, you know I don't believe in this rubbish! Oh, you enjoy it wishful, keep the romance going as long as you can. Fatpants
  24. Mandy, Cut and paste this link: Obesity Consultations - Obesity Assist - Obesity Surgery It's Chris's web site, there's loads of info there and contact details as well. I have not been for my op yet, but am going soon. I emailed Chris directly, I gave him all my medical history etc, and he gave me a date. I have seen no-one, I have not had to pay a deposit, Frederik said just to pay the whole lot when I get there. The pre consultation is important if you have lots of questions needing answered, I was lucky enough to speak to someone directly who has been to Brussels and had the op done by Chris. I also found this forum that has been extremely helpful, informative & supportive. I did not feel I needed the pre consultation. Infact I am only paying for the op and arranged everything else myself, it was marginally cheaper. But I think the deal Chris offers is fantastic, especially if you do not speak french or flemmish, you have nothing to worry about it is all done for you! Good luck with your quest! Fatpants
