I keep hoping for one that looks like the Virgin Mary. If someone can make that much money for her image on toast off EBay, I figure...well..... *wrings hands together with evil plotting*

Gross...Art....Fine... meet line.....eh? One good stinker and voila! I'm an artist! Self-made.

I was taught in school that your poop should sink. If it sinks it means that you're getting enough Fiber in your diet. If it doesn't sink you need to eat more fiber. Don't know for sure what the consistency is suppose to be though.

Dr. Oz on Oprah says that our poop should float but I forget why. Mine always sinks and is rarely solid but I've always suffered from IBS so I already knew I wasn't normal.

Believe it or not, had this conversation with an herbal life representative. I had to do some searching, but found an article on the "WEBMD" site that supported my view.

Floating is good 8-) .... it means that you have enough Fiber in your diet. People get mixed up about it though because there are some diseases that people have that causes stool to float also. The key is to know your body.

I know that if I eat fresh corn, or eat oatmeal with a lot of Water for Breakfast, .... sorry about this, ... but I will have floaters.

Hope that helps.

Live long and prosper !!

NOT easy to talk about, but extremely important. Especially if you have a band. I think that it is something that they do not cover enough in the lap band process in regard to health.

It is extremely important for the health of your colon and a healthy heart to have a sufficient intake of Water soluble & non-soluble fiber.

If you are young and banded, maybe even more so because you may tend to get away without eating fiber / fresh vegetables.

Well.....kinda. It is extremely important to have a good Water, vegetable, and fiber intake. But it would appear there is not yet a consensus among the experts as to whether poop floating or sinking is superior. I asked a gastroenterologist in the elevator the other this poop question and she just laughed and laughed and finally said "it depends on who you ask".

That's so disgusting! Healthy Poop is not suppose to be watery like that, that's diarrhea; it's suppose to be loosely compacted; fiberous; easy to break up.

Hah! I sure hope those are thick walls :) This is going to sound crazy but does anyone worry about being constipated? My greatgranmother is 92 now but she is always in agony because she ate white bread all her life and struggled with Constipation and now they cant even prescribe her enough pain meds :( I hope that the band doesnt cause me to have this problem... but if they band lets me live to be 92 I suppose the trade off will be worth it. (my grandma on the other side died at 56 :()

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
