Jan. 21st is the date

Recommended Posts

I am very anxious about my date getting closer, I am hopeful this will be a good thing for me. I have a BMI of 42, 227 lbs, almost the heaviest I have been....I dont want to get any heavier. I have Blood pressure problems, meds to control it. I have two young children, and I want to enjoy them, play at their level. My husband is so supportive, I am ready.

You sound a lot like me when I started looking into WLS.

Around the same BMI and weight (so I bet you are short like me!) and on BP meds.

I have been off my meds since my surgery and my BP is good. I did freak out a bit off and on after I got my date, but I knew in my head this was the right thing to do.

Thanks for the note, yes, I am not too tall, seems like everytime I get measured I shrink....lol

5'3'' BMI 42 227 weight My BP started to go to heck sometime in Aug. 140/110 and once a reading of 170/100..dangerous. Cardio said loose weight, but for now,it's meds. He agreed with my decision to do the Lap-Band, said he had others very successful.

I am getting very excited, reading and reading , getting ready for some good change to my health.

Keep me posted on your changes. Did you say when you were banded? And maybe you can share your first week with me. thanks:thumbup:

I ended up getting a sleeve on 9/24 and I've lost 38 lb. since then, 67 total, including pre-op.

Though the way my doctor keeps track, nothing pre-op counts and the weight the day of surgery after spending a day on clears and doing a bowel cleanse (i.e., unusually low) is my start weight. So he only thinks I've lost 35. Silly man!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
