I had my surgery on Nov. 20th. So I'm what, 10 days post op? I haven't lost an ounce. How can I not lose weight when I'm consuming less than 800 calories a day? I'm on liquids still, and I'm doing everything they asked of me, yet today I get up and yet again I haven't lost anything.

Did anyone not lose weight at first? I didn't gain any, not after surgery or since, but I'm not losing. I'm totally steady at the same weight.

It's making me insane! I've done pretty well all over the map with this whole process, today I'm very discouraged, frustrated and disappointed. I feel like I should have at least dropped a couple of pounds. I go back for my 2 week on Thursday. I'm not swollen anymore, but I only go to the bathroom (pee) maybe twice a day. I'm drinking Water constantly, so I'm not sure what to do.

I've had the same problem. No weight loss ofr days, then suddenly a drop. I't Water retention. Your body's holding on to everything going to to ward off starvation according to my dietrician. Hang in there. It does come off. Walk, walk, walk to get your system to let go.

I came home after surgery 5 lbs more than when I went in. They fill you up with fluids in the hospital. It is probably Water retention. Watch you sodium intake. And remember, the first 4 weeks are for healing and not weight loss. You will be much better off if you heal quickly. Good luck and don't get discouraged.

Don't fret -- I'm the say way. I was banded on Nov. 19. I've lost 20lbs since my pre-op diet started ... but since I've actually been banded ... maybe 2lbs tops. I too am also eating only 800 calories.

My friend who has been banded since June said to start increasing activities and very soon it will come off.

What i'm concerned about is next week when I start mushies ... I really don't want to gain.

I, too, agree that it is most likely Water retention and probably bowels.

It sounds like you are doing everything right so I would continue to do so.

I also agree with the walking. Even if you can only start with five or ten minutes a day. That is what I did. A little walking will get things moving.

I have been a bit froze up in those areas for the past couple of days myself. Last night I started flooding in as much as I could drink. Things are finally getting back to normal and the scales are moving again.

Keep after it and it will happen.

Wow, you were just banded, so give yourself a break. You are still healing. And the great news is that you have not gained anything. I bet you have lost inches.

I don't think you should compare yourself to others on the forum, because each person is different. Thus far, I have lost 25 pounds. 10 pounds pre-op and 15 pounds post op.

I have lost lots of inches, which I track. I am down two pant sizes as well. I walk and walk. Right after surgery I was walking, not far, but was walking.

Now I am back on the treadmill and walking at an incline. Plus lifting small free weights for upper body.

I was banded the same day as you (11/19)and was allowed to start mushies by 11.28th.

I know how everyone feels! Tomorrow marks two weeks and I'm only down 19lbs (6 from pre-diet lean & green). I've been walking on the treadmill 30 minutes a day plus walking. My surgeon told me no lifting weights for 4 wks due to the hernia repair. Mushie stage starts tomorrow and I don't want to over due it. I see Dr Singh tomorrow. Hope he's happy with the loss. I love Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds tapes so I hope I can get back to them soon as well. I really thought I'd be down at least 20 by down. I went almost a week w/o a BM, now I'm every other day. I've been drinking my Water as well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
