Need some energy

Recommended Posts

I really need some energy. I was used to drinking 6-8 diet cokes a day and now I am 13 weeks out from my surgery and am having alot of problems with being so tired all the time. I had someone tell me recently that they take a suppliment called Chlorella. Have any of you used it? Any suggestions would help me, I need to get enough energy to exercise !

You are going to hate this, but exersizing will give you energy, lol. Beyond that, make sure you are getting in a goodly amount of Protein as well. Protein is the best energy source for your body. My doctor isn't apposed to coffee, so I drink that sometimes, but I really only drink it because I like it, I don't feel any extra 'kick from it' I don't think. lol.

Never heard of Chlorella, but I'm pretty wary of suppliments, just because so many of them don't do anything, or are bad for you in the long run. If you eat well, it should pick back up again in time, once your body gets used to not having the 'extra help'.

How is yourprotein intake? Low Protein will make you tired

How is your Iron level? That will also make you very tired if it is low My Iron level is low which makes me extremely tired so I now take a pre-natal Vitamin which has helped alot

my opinion on soda is that is just gives you what i would call a quick fix....are you on a regular schedule as far as sleeping hours? have you had a sleep study performed? to rule out sleep apnea, etc. exercisizing will definitely increase your energy level even if it is walking for 30 minutes a day. depression can also cause fatigue...i would check with your doctor first and see what they say...hope you feel better :)

I am currently on an anti depressant (Effexor) and I am sleeping better than I have in years. I know I need to exercise but just don't have the energy to start. I had my blood work done and my Iron is ok. I think I am doing ok with the Protein.< /p>

My guess is the Vitamins too.

Are you taking a multi Vitamin? and what about your BM's? I know thats a bit personal, but when I havent gone in a couple of days, I start feeling drained.

Seems like I hit a sluggish part right about that time as well. Maybe its the body trying to adjust to a new size? dont know.

Good luck!

Angel

I see you mentioned Effexor. I have been on it for yrs due to several personal probs. I am in the process of weaning off it now but wanted to mention that the first 12 months or so on it I was tired alot of the time. I even started taking afternoon naps. Im not sure if this is the reason but just thought Id add it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
