Hi Tamisu,

When I paid the sterling the value was approx EUR 4,000.00. I have sent them an email as their website is still advertising in sterling, also my sister was interested but this has now put her off.

Have you been given a diet to follow (pre op)?

See you on 22nd, I am staying at the Camponile

Hi Allison, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I just got back from a brilliant week in Iceland!

All I was told about diet was low-fat for the 2 weeks before surgery. I wrote yesterday to send them my flight info, try to get a schedule of what and when, and also to make sure they received my deposit. Haven't gotten a reply, yet.

I'm getting so excited, our turn will be here soon.-T

hi

i just found out that i will not be getting banded on jan 22 after all. my insurance requires 6 months instead of 3 months so i have another 3 to go. i will be getting a date in late march so i will getting banded around that time. im a little upset but im getting over it. i will still be checking in on the jan bandsters too see how everyone is doing.

daqui,

I am so sorry to hear that you have to wait another 3 months. For me, the waiting was the hardest part of the process (although patience never has been my strongest virture ). Good luck, stay strong....this will still be your year !!!!

I am ! I can't quite believe it yet...I've fought with the insurance company for 2-yrs to get approval and finally have gotten it.... my date is 1/29 and I can't wait !

muffie99,

That is WONDERFUL ....Congratulations!!! I too just received insurance company final approval, so my date is confirmed for the 30th, the day after yours ! My pre-surgical visit is the 19th, which is also the day I start the full liquid protein diet. The day I got the approval we booked a trip to Paris for my 50th birthday in late June.....so I have 5 months of incentive to do whatever it takes to be successful ....so much to be grateful for in 2009

Hi all. I am scheduled to be banded on January 20th with Dr. Schumacher in Dayton, OH. Good luck to all of you!

I am too sorry daqui for that you have to wait. Just keep your head up and it will soon be here before you know it. I will be praying for you.

I had my surgery on the 8th and I am doing fine. I don't think was a mistake at all. I just wish I could have done this sooner in life.

Good luck with everyone's up coming surgery's. My prayers are with each one of you.

Hi Peanutband, how are you feeling? Does anything hurt? I have my surgery on the 19th. I'm still on my two week liquid diet. I cant wait until I get mine. Good Luck!!

Peanutband....glad to hear all went well. Keep us posted as to how you are feeling, and how life with the band is going for you.

I was banded on the 8th. It's been 5 days and it is just now getting better. The trapped air is finally gone. I have not been able to eat (drink) more than a few tiny sips of water or soup at a time. Not sure that this is normal. For the last five days I haven't taken in more than 200-300 calories. It makes it hard to be energetic. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am going to see a Dietician tomorrow. I have also bee very thirsty with a dry mouth probably due to dehydration. It is very hard to resist the temptation to guzzle down ice water. I think that would be bad. I haven't made up my mind yet about this being the best thing for me. I know it has only been five days but from what I have read in this forum, I have not read about any of these post-op problems. I would appresciate any advice or other experiences.
