Good afternoon, Violets..

I'm back from my hospital shift. Had 2 and a half hours worth of work to do. Usually it's about and hour and a half, but they were really down on the patient education packets. I copy the papers and collate them and stick them in folders with all the information pamphlets. I think I made close to 100 folders up today.

Kat.. so glad to hear Manda is doing better. That has to be so scary. Did she get her MRSA results back?

Can't believe the snow we're getting right now. It looks like a snow globe outside and somebody shook it really hard!! Glad I don't have anything until rehearsal tonight at 7.

The Bobster is out shoveling the snow away from the mailbox so the mailman doesn't have to get out of his car to put things in the mailbox.

I'm ready for a cruise, for sure! Only a month and a half and I'll be in Hawaii. Unreal!!!!

Janie..hang in there. A fill will definitely help you. I know I'm finally at my sweet spot. I just needed to break my bad grazing habits and bad choice habits. The 5 day test sure got me back on track. But even still with eating wisely and correct portions, I'm stuck at 174 and can't seem to budge it. I want to lose 10 more pounds before Hawaii. I'll keep doing what I'm doing and hope it shows up as a loss sooner or later.

Off to surf the net and do some laundry. I need to check out my new exercise video too while Ethan isn't here.

BBL.........

I don't know what the hell my problem is........

195 today

You are waiting for me to get to the same weight so we can re-lose it together? Sorry you are feeling crappy!

TracyK, glad your eye is getting better. I too would be sanitizing everything! And if she so much as rubbed her eye I would be dousing it with meds!!! Of course when someone has pink eye around me, mine just start itching in sympathy I guess. Heck my head itches to watch a lice commercial, and I have never had them to know if they itch or not!!!

Macy rubbed her eye yesterday and I thought about giving her some drops but I heard from the dr that is not a good idea cause the bottle can be contaminated. Glad I waited, she is OK, thank GOD!

Don't forget, there is still the rest of today left...just a reminder

Pamela-(((hugs)))

Jane-(((hugs))) we are here for you! Keep us posted!

We made it to and from the hospital, and have been doing laundry and playing in the yard!

She played, and I did my Facebook stuff so my friend would leave me alone! LOL---I kept telling her I would, then didn't. So now I did!

Manda is doing good. The MRSA test is negative--Thank You God! IN fact her white count is dropping steadily, and hopefully she will come home in the morning.

Getting dinner done early----has been a lazy day. Kinsey did ok at the hospital, she did not stop asking questions from the time we got there til....well she still hasn't stopped!

She wanted to stop and eat, I told her no, we would eat when we got home. So we come home, and I made a bowl of chicken salad, and added some sunflower seeds because she loves them....she took a bite on a cracker and tells me "No wonder we didn't eat at Burger King, they don't cook this good!"

One of the other frac companies locally----Weatherford, is closing up. They are keeping wireline etc. open, but the frac dept. is gone. They began with over 200 employees, and laid off the last 45 yesterday. I told Rick I don't know how to look at it, on one hand it is a sign of things to come, on the other hand, someone has to do the work that they are opening up, so maybe it is good news for him. Who knows??

Well I am going to go help the kiddo write "n". She is struggling with them. She decided she did not need to write her name she would just say it!

Good Morning, Violets..

Had a horrible night last night. I tossed and turned all night and just watched the hours go by on the clock. I don't know why, but I'm gonna be one pooped puppy today. I have flute rehearsal at 9 and Ethan all day and then choir tonight. Hope I survive.

I'm going to have to stop weighing in each morning. My eating has been perfect.. no slip ups at all and I'm up another pound this morning. I'm not going to weigh in until Sunday and hope for a loss.

Janie... great for you with the fill! That will make a big difference. You CAN do it!!

Kat.. so relieved that Manda is doing better. I was really worried about the MRSA results..

TracyK.. hope the eye is better today.

All my Violets have a great day. Make good choices and drink, drink, drink.

Where's Suzie?? Laura must be lost in Tunica!!

Good morning ladies~

My eye is even better this morning...now I have a scorching sore throat. I think I may have gotten a viral infection somewhere that is causeing it all. Too much of a coincidence for me. Luckily I still have some leftover antibiotics and can self medicate. Doctors & rx's are bleeding me dry! Oh well, I have until Valentines Day to get well. That is our 6th anniversary and a few days later is my b-day so we are going to Coushatta to play...and play...and Celebrate. I should be all better by then. I am just tired of being sick and I know you all are probably tired of hearing it.

New subject...macys school is alot harder than her last one. OMG, I really do not think she will be able to hang...she started as a young 5 year old anyway since her b-day was right before the cut off. The new school is even using more of a script writing of the alphabet instead of the old school block kind. So she is having to relearn having to write her letters. Her homework is insane. For example, February's homework is every night they give them a subject to write a story, 3-5 lines, unassisted! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So, yesterday I had to write the translation next to the sentences so the teacher knew what it said. Oh well, I guess worst case scenario is holding her back another year. She was doing SO well in her other school too. She LOVES her new school though, so I am happy about that!

Have a great day ladies! Respect the pouch!

Morning gals

miss you all... on real quick at work

I've been getting up at 4:30 and getting to work on time, omg it is early.

Tracyks - i had the same issue after my gallbladder surgery, but now i'm actually normal again, for the first time in 2 years... no problems for me

Tracyk - Dylan is learning his letters in the new script style, they started that when Alex was in 1st grade so she learned old block style and then had to relearn, she was fine... they are young and adjust better than we do...LOL

Pamela - Love the tattoo! I got the picture Monday night when I got in.

I'm doing ok, holding my own working on things - actually starting to like myself enough that i've gained 5lbs... LOL

ok not funny but i'm back to Soup and extra protien slmifast today so hope it goes away quickly. I'm going to start back to the gym this weekend.

anyway... hugs to you all... busy week at work, having a bbq for the guys tomorrow

Good Morn, Dearies~~

We had a dusting of snow last night -- not predicted -- so the 2-hour late opening for school came as quite a surprise! So it's been a lazy, slow morning...

Somehow I was still down today after my bad eating yesterday... hmmm...

Am sipping on my strawberry yogurt pro shake now... mmm...

DH leaves tomorrow for Mexico... grrr...

Make it a good day everyone!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

    • LeighaTR

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
