Cute cute pics Judy! Your grandaughters are too cute! Who is your child, Joshua or Jaime? I don't remember!

Joshua is my son. And Jami is the best daughter in law anyone could have. She's an awesome mom, working to get her RN in May and running the household at the same time. She was pregnant with Amelia when she started the nursing program. I give her all the credit in the world. Did you notice how tall DSIL Nathan is????

Ethan is on the couch after a tantrum. He didn't want Grandma to bowl on the Wii. Welllllll.. he's got another think coming if the thinks he won't be sharing.

I tried to eat left over ribs from Friday night, but they didn't go down. I put them in the garbage and am now trying to get the pressure feeling to go down. I pb'd a little, but I can still feel them. I should have stuck with tuna and soy nuts. Think I'll buzz up some frozen strawberries, cream and Splenda for a treat.

It's 21 degrees here and overcast and gloomy. Nothing on my agenda except babysitting and making some Soup for supper.

Michelle and Haydee.. sounds like you two would be perfect band buddies.. you're almost the same weight to the pound. Keep each other in line!!!

TracyK.. hope the meds work on the eye quickly. What did the doc say it was??

TracyinKS.. hugs to you as you work out the issues with Cody and Robby. You've got your hands full for sure, but you're strong and at least everyone is on the same page now.

PamELa.. how's the tattoo feeling today??? It sure look red and sore in the pics.

Heather.. I'm not persuaded any which way and I don't like to see the eyeballs of anything I'm eating!! Much as I love shrimp, I've never had it whole with the head on. I'd pass on that.

Off to make my fruity treat..

Hi girls~

Manda is not doing well. The neck under and behind her right ear is so swollen, she has no jaw line, it is hard as a rock...looks like golf ball size knots up and down that gland. She spent hours in ER the other night, only to NEVER get in. There was a murder with others injured near the hospital, and multiple drunks with injuries, and ambulances pulling in right and left.....so she was there for close to 6 hours with not being seen.

So yesterday she showed up at Becky's and OMG---made this mama cry. Her ear is turning black. No one will help her! Beck and I took her back to the ER. There is standing room only. We waited in line for 40 minutes to register her, and be told it would be up to 2 hours before the triage nurse even made it to her. So we put her in the car and drove her to Durango 50 miles from the first hospital, to have the same story pretty much repeated. They told us it would be several hours.

I guess the flu and assorted illness is the issue, there were sick kids EVERYWHERE!

She kept saying she would wait til this morning. We went back to Becky's house, figuring we would hang for an hour and go to the hospital and take up our place in line. We were sitting on the couch I was rubbing the back of Manda's neck and she is feverish, and big tear are just running down her cheeks. She kept wiping them away so Kinsey wouldn't see. She was hurting like crazy and scared. So we went back, and it was still another 25 minutes before they called her. She went in and was looked at, had her vitals taken, and was put in the line up by the triage nurse, and sent back to the waiting room. While we were sitting there, this Dr. that did my thyroid surgery walked through, he is an ENT---- I hollered at him! I could tell at first he was thoroughly pissed over it! I think my tears may have softened him, or he recognized me or something, anyway he stopped at the counter where the security guard sits and listened to me, I waved Manda over, his eyes got BIG! Told her he did not want to examine it without gloves. Said he would see her in a few minutes. Finally got her into a treatment room, we thought alright, we will get something done now! Which we did, but still nothing moved fast. He didn't want to drain it without knowing what it was, so he cultured it, and sent it off STAT for culture....because he suspected it was staph infection. Took 2 hours----during which time the Dr. removed 6 pennies from a childs sinus cavity.....inserted through his nose I guess! He come back, told her not to get comfortable, she had staph infection in her neck and she was septic. She was admitted early this morning. The skin is breaking down on her ear it is so swollen, she may end up losing part of it.

I am SOOOOOOO upset, she went and tried and tried to get help! She has insurance, and she had money, and just no one would take it serious! Now she is in serious danger!

Her hands and feet, and face are all terribly swollen, she looks like she did when she delivered Kinsey, she had pre eclampsia really bad and was VERY swollen.

I just come home to shower, and to go with Rick to his Dr. We are hoping with actually seeing him, and maybe he will call and confer with the cardiologist and change Rick's Rx.

They are keeping Manda pretty sedated. One for the pain, and two, it slows the blood flow, and allows the antibiotics to be more efficient the nurse said.

So I thought I would let her sleep for a couple of hours. Her MRSA test results will be back this afternoon. Right now, as a precaution she is in a sterile room. Full wash and gown before entering and upon leaving. Which means as of now, Kinsey has not been allowed to see her Mommy. She is ok so far, we have kept her occupied. She went to Breakfast with Becky and her grandson. Now she is with my Mom. Later today depending on what we hear, we will decide how to handle her. I want her to see her Mommy, but not at risk to her too.

Anyway......no sleep, extreme stress, and I have hives to beat all. Which is not a good thing in a sterile environment, they do not want to see me scratching I bet!

So....will check in as I can....and keep everyone updated. My cell phone is totally dead, and is not taking a charge, so Rick said he would take care of it. When we are together it is fine, he has his and we can be reached, but I HAVE to be able to be reached tomorrow when he goes back to work.

Sorry I didn't take time to read up. Will catch up soon!

XOXOXO

Kat

OMG Kat!!! Purple Power and Prayers to you and Manda. I can not believe how bad it got! Take a deep breath honey. I would be so freaking mad too...I remember the incompetency of the medical industry all to well. One stupid ass nurse once asked my Grandpa, "Are you sure you have to have a BM...I am going on break!" I wanted to slap that bitch down.

Hang in there! Keep us posted!

Kat!!! That's horrible!!! I can't imagine having to wait that long for treatment. I'm so glad I live in a small town. That would never happen here. That is totally unacceptable!! Prayers for Manda that the antibiotics do their job. You stay strong and remember we're all here with you. Distance can't stop purple power and prayers.

Haydee, if the tickets are not real expensive, go see it. Laura Bell Bundy who originated the role, was the lead for us because the other girl fell or something. It was cute, and entertaining. Not for men though. They did something in the paper here on that!!

Violet karma coming your way Kat for your whole family!!!

Take care Tracyk!!!

Hey Tracyks what is your surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kat, I really hope that Manda is better soon. I can't believe the ER is so swamped. I don't know if that is typical or not since I haven't been in more years than I can remember. My thoughts are with you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
