yeah, i went to go get a fill and under flouro. My doctor says I'm pretty tight and that my pouch is not stretched. So I ask her, why am I able to eat a whole sandwich, bread and all? And she just says, why are you eating a whole sandwich? DUH, cuz I can. A slice of turkey with cheese does not satisfy me.

On Friday for dinner I had a baked chicken breast. I caramelized onions and peppers and then added some cheese to it and put that on top of the baked chicken breast. I made steamed veggies on the side. Zucchinni, squash, brocoli and green Beans. I was able to eat a whole breast with some of the topping and a side of veggies and half a bowl of salad. HELLO. WHY? I hear banded folks all the time saying they have so much trouble with chicken. We eat chicken breasts all the time. I buy tons of them when they're on sale and we live off of chicken breasts. I have no problem eating a whole huge breast.

And I know it would be one thing if I only lived off the chicken breasts. Then of course I would be losing weight. But my whole point in pointing that out was that I have no restriction and that's basically the whole point of getting banded. No pizza, no bread, no doughy stuff, right? NOT. So then that's where the barganing with myself comes in. And I've never had self control and I knew that I wasn't going to start once this piece of plastic was put inside of me. Ugh, am I making sense? I feel like I'm just rambling now... just know that i'm frustrated with myself and with my band...

I just remember that at the beginning saying that someday I would get to the point of where I would be eating to live not living to eat. I don't think I will ever be there. I will have to battle this my whole life! I don't think I will ever be non-chalant about food and not have it consume my day.

Yes Haydee, Yes!!

You're describing EXACTLY how I feel mentally/emotionally & how I physically can eat, too!! Anything! Any amount! Any time! I HATE IT!!!

Self-control. pffffffffft! If I had that, I wouldn't have gotten the band!

and i hate hijacking the thread with this. we all have very important stuff going on in our lives and i don't mean to come on here and be petty and complain about something so trivial.

on another note....

I've been flat-ironing my hair lately. It looks pretty good but it's alot of work! Anyhoo, I've got tons of static. What can I put on it so that it's not staticky? Oh and my ends are horrible. Not really split ends though, just very dry. I love the lenght though and don't want to cut any off. Anything I can soak my ends in to bring them back to life? The rest of my hair is shiny and healthy but the last three inches are like straw. Dry and crackly...

Haydee, that's not hi-jacking the thread... it's what the thread's supposed to be about! Remember, this is a band support site! We've just turned it into an EVERYTHING support site, thank goodness!

Oh, & your hair queries I leave to our resident hair expert, Janie, to answer. I haven't a clue!

Hey girls,

Back from morning meetings. I was SOOOO TIRED today...thinking my thyroid was broken or something. Then about 10:30, I realize (remembered) that I took a muscle relaxer last night because I was cramping...haha....I've been hung over all morning and didn't realize it! I literally could not open my eyes. I feel much better now, snapped out of it about 10:30 when I realized it...what an idiot!

Haydee and Michelle, I loved your chats today. I feel the same way...100%.

OK...where is tracyks and terry been? Who else is missing too!

Well POOP... (see, I'm being nice, Michelle). I had a long post and thought it got on here, but I see it didn't. POOP.

I'll try and recreate the post.

Haydee, we are all here for support and we've all struggled and are still struggling. If you can't come here for support, where the heck (still nice, Michelle) CAN you go?? I'm stuck at 172 again.. and getting ummmm ticked (whew... almost blew it Michelle). But I'll keep on keeping on. The Bobster and I are going to do the 5 day test again March 1st. He said it is easier if we do it together.

I have a roast in the pressure cooker for dinner. I had tuna/soy nuts/oranges for Breakfast and lunch. I bet you knew that. I bought some Atkins Endulge bars and some Peanut Butter cups for a special lo carb, lo sugar treat. I'm trying to add a little variety in hopes it will keep me on track. I really am doing well as far as eating since January 2. My mind is in the right place, I just have to get my body to follow.

As far as what I am called by my grandkids, I'm Gramma and Bob is Grampa. Ethan used to call me Mommom before he could say Gramma and Bob used to be Poppa. Ethan's other Grandmother is called Busha. He doesn't have another Grandfather.

I finished 3 hours at the hospital this morning. I was busy the whole time. Tonight I have a rehearsal at the senior citizen's apartments. They can't often get out to our concerts and asked if we could practice there so some of the people could hear us. I think that's pretty cool.

TracyinKS is hardly in here anymore. Sad, because she's the one that got us all started talking to each other.

Gotta go peel some potatoes for the bobster. Everyone have a good evening. I'll check in before bed.

Judy, have fun at the senior apartments practising tonight. I'm sure they really appreciate ya'll.

I'm heading out the door too. Gonna get home to a nice scrubbed clean house. I love love love that. Tonight we are going to go see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the theatre downtown. Gotta run home and get dressed and do up my makeup.

Have a wonderful night girlies. Thanks for letting me vent with ya'll!

So Judy... are you practicing giving up your "trucker talk" for Lent?

Love that movie, Haydee! What fun!!

I made a traditional shrove Tuesday night dinner for the family... bacon, sausage, eggs, & pancakes: plain, banana, AND choc chip -- AND I warmed the real maple syrup! Am I good or am I good? Even better -- I didn't eat any pancakes! -- just a few slices of bacon & a strawberry vanilla yogurt Protein shake! Yay me!

Now I'm back @ the computer working, working, working! If anyone ever needs to know anything about Canadian Arbitral & Labor Relations Law, I'm your gal! :cursing:

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
