Morning Girls, Up and dragging my butt.

I'm taking Sis to hospital to have her colonoscopy done and than take her back home. Doc said it's been 5 yaers since her last one so it's time again.

Jane, What happen with the fill you got? Have you lost your restriction? I'm one of those ones that have to keep reminding myself that the band and a DIET work together. Even though I have the band and some good restriction, I still have to refrain from putting the food in my mouth. Hang in there.

Just remembered it's CTCD, ugghhhhhh.

Jane-you are not alone! Trust me!

I go to the dentist this morning so they can fix a front tooth I chipped while eating sunflower seeds  I HATE dentists. Pray for me....I am the worlds biggest baby. It should just need a little bonding and I will be good to go. If it takes more than that then I may need nitrus :tt2:

By the way, I have put back on like 4 pounds but I am not changing my ticker because it is just temporary....I am going to fix THAT problem!

Good Morning, Violets.

Ethan has arrived and I've had my breakfast... I changed it up a bit. I had HAM salad and soy nuts and no oranges. wooo hoooo.

Nothing planned for today except for laundry and waiting for the big storm to hit. We're under a warning from 4 p.m. til 3 a.m. tomorrow and expecting 6+ inches of heavy wet snow. We got some freezing rain last night and a little snow, but the big stuff is saved for tonight. Kris's doctor's appointment is at 2 and I sure hope she doesn't go into labor during the storm. But then again I want to meet this grandbaby really bad.

In the shower this morning, I finally decided that if I get to -100#, then I'm going to look into the

Panniculectomy procedure. I just have too darn much flabby belly fat. I swore I wouldn't have any more surgery, but I think this is going to be necessary. I don't want the full Tummy Tuck. I just want to be rid of this flap of flab. The Bobster says he supports me 100% though he's very complimentary about my looks right now. So we'll see. At least it's something to shoot for.

I guess TracyinKS has abandoned us. sighhhhhh

Everyone have a great day!! BBL..

Jenn - you'll do great tonight with your trainer! Good luck with the cardio but I don't think you'll need it, you'll be fine....

Terry - I meant to tell you the other day AWESOME JOB on coming under budget. Me and Juan seriously need to get our spending under control. We don't spend more than we make but we don't save nearly enough. But anyhoo, just wanted to give you kudos because that's so hard to do but you're kicking butt with it...

Janie - hello friend... You're not a failure! Keep on keeping on. One day at a time... That's all we can do Janie, one day at a time.

Pammy - OMG, I got my tweezers last night. They are amazing! My family was over for dinner last night and I opened up your package in front of my sisters and they wanted to steal them! Thank you so much...

Beautiful day here today. Hopefully the cold weather is making it's way out the door. I'm ready for sunshine! Two weeks till my vacation!! I can't wait, I need some down time...

Off for my coffee....

TracyK - yep, i see your point. I love love road trips but only on my way there. On my way there i'm in a good mood, singing, chatting but then on my way back I'm usually tired, cranky, ornery and just want to get home. When we do road trips Juan drives all the way back and he tells me to just go to sleep that way I don't bug him with my crankiness... LOL

Plane trips can be just as bad, lol. Over the past 2-3 years I flew to Germany 3 times and Turkey 3 times. There have been a ton of domestic flights as well, but for a few hours I can't complain.

I am always sooo excited to go, but coming back and having to sit on a plane somewhere between 8 to 11 hours and a couple of transfers in between . . . make . . . me . . . crazyyy!!! I am annoyed, uncomfortable, tired, cranky and all the movies are kind of boring. By that time I just want to go home after being abroad for a while. Also going to the Middle East, no one really asks a lot of questions or pays much attention to you in security more so than they would for a domestic flight . . . but coming back into Europe or the US from the Middle East is a completely different story and very hassle prone.

Last November was the absolute worst. I was in the first trimester and my band was acting up so that it was super, super tight on the plane and nausea was running rampant. I remember looking for one of those "special blue bags" for the first time in my life . . . and there was nothing there!!!! I barely had a chance to get the door of the teeny tiny WC closed before it was all coming up . . . and this happened several times on that flight. This was a 10-11 hour flight and the longest exercise in sheer misery I can remember in many years. Thank goodness my DH was there.

Sorry to write on and on, lol. You just brought up some very distinct memories :0). They are still all to fresh in my mind.

My mom had tooth "surgery" on Tuesday.. they gave her a crap load of pills to take to sedate her, then they did a root canal, cap, and pulled a tooth. She hasn't been to the dentist since I was a kid, had 2 broken teeth and finally decided she had to get it fixed (she couldn't eat anymore). She was sooo scared, on Monday evening she was freaking out, I kept telling her it's fine, etc. Tuesday came and she was afraid the drugs wouldn't knock her out enough, she was babbling and non-coherent. My dad had to carry her.. then someone had to babysit her all day at home, so at 3 I went over and took care of her. She slept most of the time, but woke up twice asking for food.. Anyway, it was entertaining. I don't think I've ever seen her so doped up, even coming out of a real surgery she was more coherent than she was on Tuesday!! Oh, my point is though it was not as scary as she thought it was going to be.

I made spaghetti squash last night. I finally tried it! I have to say, I was impressed. Russell liked it too. I made it with a creamy pesto sauce topped with parmesian. I think it would have been better with a normal alfredo sauce and adding some veggies in it (most recipes say to put veggies in it, but I hurt my hip so I spend as little time in the kitchen as I can). I had asked Russ to get it out of the fridge for me since it was in a bottom drawer, and he dropped it.. so it split in half the short way, so it ended up being more work to scrape it out when it was done cooking, and ended up being shorter pieces.. but still yummy.

Oh yeah, my hip is hurt! It's getting worse every day, feels like a pulled muscle or a rock is wedged in my spine. Sitting is a dull ache, but walking causing sharp pains. WEEE. It never ends for me, I'm always broken. I guess the good news is, laying down makes it go away completely do it doesn't hurt to sleep, and sitting down is a bearable pain. It's just when I have to run around work or do things around the house that it hurts.

Carson says thank you Auntie Pam!!! That was too cute, I love the little turtle & the tie-dye!

Finally we're back up and running. I hate it when this site goes down.

No snow yet and just waiting for the report from Kris after her 2:00 appointment. I just know there will be a baby in the next few days and I'm getting really antsy!! Can't imagine what Kris is feeling!

Good afternoon, Violets..

I guess we're going to get a humdinger of a storm. We're supposed to get 7-9 inches of heavy, wet snow along with thunderstorms!!:)

Ethan just left and I won't see him until Wednesday morning. He and his family are going downstate to see his stepbrother play hockey.

Kris got back from the doctor and reported in. She is 1-2 cm. dilated and 80% effaced and the baby is about 9# and sunny side up. This waiting is killing me.. I'll be so happy when the baby is here and I can start cuddling and being Gramma to another little person.

Suzie... Breakfast sounded ummmmmmmmmm interesting.

I had some blueberries and cream for lunch with a couple of chicken strips leftover from Applebees. I've been munching on pistachios and had an Atkins Endulge bar for a treat and really didn't care for it much. I think I'll leave the rest for the Bobster.

We're having leftover pot roast hash for supper. Yummy. I'm even going to break down and have the potatoes in it.

Last load of laundry is calling me. Have a good evening everyone. PamELa.. have a good trip and listen well... you're next to defend the diss!

And I got a little exercise in today so the giving up of sloth is on track for Lent.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
