December 1st anyone?

My surgeon released me from the hospital late yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately I had complications in that my blood pressure jumped up to the high-170s and my heart rate dropped below 45. According to the doctors it was related to the morphine. Although I'm home, I'm in an incredible amount of pain, both my port site as well as my back from laying on it (I'm a side-sleeper). They sent me home with LorTab elixir, but it doesn't seem to really help with the pain. Last night I became extremely nauseous and had the dry heaves. Today I started sipping the high Protein drink, but right now I can feel it swirling around in my tummy just begging to come back up.

Sorry to hear your having a rough time. My dr said I could take liquid (children's) motrin along with the loratab if needed. I was starting to hurt a little more last night and early this morning so I took the motrin too. I had bought a liquid nausea relief but haven't needed that yet. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for responding Rosey...my blood pressure is nearly to normal now as is my heart rate. I tend to be a martyr and don't ask for help till I'm truly suffering. So today I've felt miserable...depressed...nauseous...lethargic...and I didn't call my doctor. I took less of the Lortab and have been in too much pain today. I'm going to take another dose tonight before bed and if I'm not feeling better tomorrow, I'll call the doctor's office. I'm also having a real challenge in drinking fliuds so I know that's not helping my situation and recovery either.

Hi Teresa...trust me...as much of a crybaby as I am there is NO way children's Motrin is gonna have any impact on my pain. I have a super low tolerance for pain and I know I need something strong.

I just don't want the nausea that comes with opiates. :tongue2:

Vickie--I hope you feel better soon!! I know that Loratab makes alot of people nauseous. Try to take it with liquids that are as heavy as you are allowed if you still plan to take it. It's much better when it's not on an empty stomach. Good luck and keep us posted!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
