I have the mirena, and my husband didn't notice the strings, but my doctor also cut them fairly short when it was implanted.

He really didn't like the nuva ring when I was on it several years ago, and I didn't give him a choice this time with the mirena, lol.

As far as the eroscillator. Yes, it is expensive, but it comes highly recommended, and it will probably last for several years. www.janesguide.com is a great research for women and sex toys. There is also sexinfo101.com that has reviews too. Product suggestions are so difficult because everyone has their own personal tastes, but it's great to get an overall picture of why people love certain things!!!
