Taking Survey- Doctors not telling their patients cc's

Recommended Posts

I just had my fill 7-06 - last wed. I was surprised that I was able to eat sand. bread and hot dog. I do feel a little tiny bit restriction. The office does not schedule one again untill weight lost is not right. I don't know about everyone else but my scales won't weight me at home so I will go to my PC doc. to get weighed.

When I had fill, I asked Doc. about cc's? He said that their not telling patients cc's so they don't compare with others since everyone is different. I know everyone's cc's is different. Would like to know if other doc. are following suit. Has anyone else been told this, is it just starting, because I know few years back the office let U know how many cc's U had.

I have a 4cc band

Hi Apple,

My doctor takes the approach that there is no point in knowing the exact amount of saline in the band. There are three levels: too much, not enough, and just right. He does record it, of course, and will let me know how much has been added or taken out, but the total amount in my band remains a mystery to me.

I always know how much is there, especially when they remove it all into the syringe before adding more, I look at it! Maybe it would be better not to know.

I always know how much there is in my band, my doctor tells me what he took out and exactly what he put in and he is always right on the number when he takes out. I like knowing personally.

Ahhhh! Thought my Doc ws the only one who avoided that question (about fills and how much) - because he side-stepped totally around my question! Guess it's a new thing. I had first fill on the 5th and have felt NO restriction - but someone said it might take a while - anyone else have this problem?

I just had my first fill yesterday, July 11th, was banded May 3. I asked for a small fill because I don't want to be too restricted; he initially put in 1.0 cc, then took out 0.2 cc, for a net "fill" of 0.8 ccs. He emphasized that it's important for me to remember, and write down when I get home, the amount of the fill, even though it's in the records at his office.

I'm absolutely starving today, having had only Water and a Protein drink last night and a Low-carbarnation Instant Breakfast today. I'm not swollen and feel fine, and am tempted to try something more substantial rather than sticking to Clear liquids. I forgot to ask him, during the fill, what I can eat so am trying to play it safe, but am back at work after 1-1/2 weeks of vacation and my work load is really heavy, so I'm very tired.

My doctor always tells me how much he is putting in, then he takes out the previous fill, checks to see it is all in there and adds the new. It has been right on the money every time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
