Hi there! I was banded on 4/18/08 and was just wondering how everyone was doing with losing the pounds! I feel very lucky with losing 53, but just seeing how the rest of you are doing. I am so glad that I had this surgery- even though I still miss biting into juicy hamburgers and eating whatever I want! It's OK- the payoff has been great! What a great feeling it is to get into a smaller pair of jeans and waking up in the morning feeling so much healthier!! Keep up the good work! ;)

Hi Jamie,

I was banded on April 24th and I have lost 50 lbs. I am with you I miss being able to eat whatever I want also, but I guess that is why we did this huh. I would like to loose about 27 lbs more. How about you?

I don't know about you but I still have a hard time noticing it I get lots of compliments and I can see it on the scale and I have been having to buy plenty of new clothes so they don't fall off but when I look at my body I still see no change.

i was banded on 04/21/08 and i've lost 41 pounds... half of what i'd like to lose.

it's been a constant struggle... no longer being able to binge (i've tried), no longer being able to eat my favorite foods (pizza, burgers)... but i love the compliments i get and i loved the $500 shopping spree i went on!

Hi all

I was banded 1/29/08 and it has been hard losing the weight.I My last fill was in August. I have 9cc's in a a 10 cc band and I have only lost about 18 pounds. I feel I have good restriction as there are things I have a hard time eating and can tell a difference I also walk 2-4 miles 4 times weekly. All that said I would still have the surgery over again.

I just thought I'd give you a shout out crazylady. I'm 58, I'm hoping to get banded in December, haven't heard yet. I have been diligently exercising and keeping my calories to around 1500. I gained 3 pounds since June. I was getting discouraged so I added a one mile walk to my 2 hours swimming aerobics everyday, then bought a Total Gym to get the weight resistance and firm up the flab. I started the new regime on the 23th last month, got on the scale 4 days ago, I dropped 19 pounds. I couldn't belive it, I weighed twice ! We all have different weight triggers, keep trying different things, that your comfortable with. I proved to myself consistancy works ! My prayers are with you.

Banded on July 24 and have lost 36 pounds so far. Haven't had a fill for about a month. Went out of town and didn't want to be miserable and wanted to enjoy myself. Then they called me to reschedule my appointment because the doctor would be out of the office. So now I have to wait another 2 weeks for a fill. But this will be my 3rd one. The weight is still coming off, just a lot slower than it was. The bottom line is how much will be gone by summer of next year, when I want to look good in a bikini.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
