Hello

I have yet to run across anyone from the Pittsburgh PA area and thought I would just throw my name out there. I'm in the middle of my six month pre-surgery "plan" and I am anxiously awaiting for my turn to put up before and after pics!! If anybody is from this area, give me a shout!

We went to Disney for a week in Sept. and that was hard. I DID eat (NOT an extreme amount) but probably more than I should have. Thank God we walked 3 to 5 miles a day!!

I am such a Disney freak. We're going in January. How did the band change your experience...especially dining. I am curious because I don't plan to stop going to Disney

Is anyone going to the Nov. 5 session at Magee????

I went to my info session yesterday at Magee, and came away pretty confused. I know that I want to lose weight, am sure I want some kind of surgery, but now I'm confused about which one I want to have. Anyone else have questions or concerns after their information session or any time during the process?

I am from Blairsville, I went to Magee but my insurance would not cover their doctor.. Now I am going to Windber, was there a problem that you left their program?

I haven't been to an informational session yet. I just told my husband that I want to do this and I've been researching and I am also getting confused. This process seems worse than the GBP. I wanted the lapband because I didn't want my stomach cut but the more I read, the more I think GBP is easier.

No there wasn't a problem after I left the info session, except that I had planned on the lap band, but now I'm not sure which surgery I want.

I'm not sure which is "easier," but I think there are are easy and difficult things with both.

What makes you think that GBP is easier. I'm just curious and continue to be unsure as to which direction I will go.

I think with GPB you dont get your vitamins as well. But is you go to Magee get a doc that does both, they will help you decide. With me I had a 33% chance of having a open surgery, because I had a old GB surgery in the 70's.(Then I decided I wanted lap band) also my son had lapband at magee in june.

I know I am late to this, I just joined today....

I live in Pgh, and am going through the Magee program. I am so excited for this opportunity. I just started...and have 5 1/2 more months before I can get approved.

Magee has a nice program. Your time will go really fast.
