  1. I wondered how did your surgery go? Mine went good except I had the gas pains in my lt shoulder and neck. Are you losing weight very fast? I get alittle hungrier now than I did at first. I go to the doc tommorrow.
  2. I was banded on 11/10, everything seems to be going great. I am wondering what to do if something would get stuck , like a pill or some food. Any hints about what to do before I call the doc and he has to take fluid from the band. I am still on purried so I doubt it will happen now.
  3. Well I got home today from having my band put in. My hospital was fantastic, everyone very knowledgeable about the band. I didn't get sick from the anestetic I am having some pain tonight from being to active. I got to meet 5 employees that had already lost alot of weight with there bands. :thumbup:
  4. I am scheduled for surgery today. I couldn't sleep so I got up early. It hardly seems possible all the tests are done, the preop diet, the doc visits...the big day is here. I will be 60 on the 16th. I am from sw Pa.
  5. :wub:My day is tomorrow too.....at 9:30. I will be glad Tuesday. I watched my emmi movie yesterday. Best of luck...:rolleyes2:
  6. Well tomorrow the big day has finally come. After all the tests, meetings, shrink my liver diet, I will finally be banded. I am having it done by Dr. Marley in windber, pa. I am excited but nervous. Wish me luck and say a prayer.:rolleyes2::wub:

  9. Magee has a nice program. Your time will go really fast.
  10. I think with GPB you dont get your vitamins as well. But is you go to Magee get a doc that does both, they will help you decide. With me I had a 33% chance of having a open surgery, because I had a old GB surgery in the 70's.(Then I decided I wanted lap band) also my son had lapband at magee in june.
  11. Magee is in pittsburgh, I had stress tests, upper Gi, ekg, already done. I just needed to find a doc that would take my insurance. My PCP helped me find Dr. Marley and said he was good.
  12. I have tricare prime.:eek::wub:
  13. For me probably 2 months, but I went thru the magee program and had my testing all done..The doc in Windber made me go to there seminar, dietican exerc person, and pshyc doc. Then I got surg approval yesterday.
  14. Sounds like you are really doing great. Do you go to the support meetings? What do you typically eat? THanks again cherre
  15. I live near Indiana, Pa. I am scheduled to be banded by DR. Marley 11/10. I went thru the magee program, but they didnt accept my insurance. I really like DR. Marley and his office staff so far. I am older so I am getting nervous. :sad_smile: They had a story the other day on channel 4 about a soap star that got banded....and it got me excited. I start my shrink my liver diet Monday.:rolleyes2::wub:
