  1. Hi and glad to hear that everyone is doing so well. I have not been on the computer for several weeks because I fell 2 weeks after I was banded and broke my right arm--I now have a new shoulder. I have been at my daughters for the last few weeks, but I am going home this week. Hooray!! can get back to eating right. I hope to see the numbers start coming down again. I have been unable to exercise --the pain level has been really bad. I have had physical therapy and will soon start outpatient therapy. When I get home I will be able to start using my stationary bike - that will help some. Sorry to be so long-winded. I have missed keeping up with everyone.:w00t:
  2. I was banded on 11/21 and everything went great. I am home from my daughters (she felt that I needed some extra care and I was happy to oblige lol). I feel wonderful I am starting to have some hunger pangs-probably just head hunger- need something to chew on. Saw the doc yesterday and tried to get him to let me advance my diet --huh!! don't think so. I get to start mushies on 12/12. Will see the doc again on Jan. 12 for a fill. Hope everyone is doing as well as I am.
  3. Hi sistasassy It is really too bad about your friends. I would wonder just how good of friends they are. Maybe they are a little bit jealous to see you melting away in front of them? Anyway, you are getting healthy!!! that is the most important part. Besides, you have us.
  4. I'm in. I was banded on 11/21/08. I am hoping that I will be down to 230 by the first of the year. 243.5 at this writing. Still on liquids. That is about 14 pounds. Yes I can!!! I know I can!!!
  5. Hi Kaitiana I was banded on 11/21 and am on my pre-op diet until Dec. 12. :tt2: YUCK!! Boost Protein shakes, Jello, clear broth, 1 yogurt a day. On Thanksgiving I am going to have a cherry vanilla light yogurt and chicken broth. Exciting it is not! :cool2: I have read several of your posts and I applaud you for your decision. Your youngster and husband are very lucky to have you and you are making sure that they will have you for years to come. Good luck to you and your family. It sounds like you have planned very well for your holiday and that it will be a great one. :girl_hug::crying:
  6. try a vanilla shake with some sf/ff orange jello in it. Try blending it in the blender. I have done this with shakes in the past==== tastes almost like a creamsicle.
  7. I know what you are saying! I am ready to send someone out to get me Depends!!! This is terrible. It seem sas though a few minutes after anything goes in it starts coming out!!!! I was banded on Friday the 21st and am on Glucerna, jello, broth, water for the next 2-3 weeks. Hoping it is just the diet that is causing this and that this will get better. Otherwise I am feeling pretty good.
  8. Hi Giddy - I am being banded on 11/21. Congrats on your wonderful weight loss. I also have A-fib. It is not a fun thing that we have to live with. I was having almost daily episodes but now with my medication I have actually gone 2 days without one. At one point my cardiologist said that I probably would be a candidate for a pacemaker down the road. I am hoping that losing weight will help mine somewhat. Keep up the good work and know that you are not alone.
  9. Hi Julie, I am Gerry and I have 3 children, the oldest is the same age as you!!. I have 12 grandchildren and a great grand on the way in the spring. You are just a youngster . We are all going to get so healthy it won't be funny. I am so excited about my surgery on 11/21. I love the names of your kids and grands. I know we will have lots of support from this board. I have been reading for some time and just recently started posting. WE WILL DO IT!!! God bless.
  10. My surgery is also the 21st. I have been on all liquids since last Thursday. I started 1 day early. It is not too bad. sure is boring though. Good luck to all of you. I am so very excited!!!
  11. Thinking of you. you will be home and resting even as i write this. God Bless you.
  12. I am scheduled for 11/21. Started pre-op liquids on 11/6. not hungry anymore. just have a sore butt from the diarrhea. lol.
  13. Cherreg - By the time you read this you will have had your surgery. I hope everything went well and that you have a quick recovery.
  14. Hi, I am scheduled for surgery on November 21!!! I have hesitated to say anything in case it got delayed somehow. I decided to join this group because there does not seem to be any "traffic" on the 70's forum and this seems to be very active. . I started my pre-op diet on Thursday, 1 day early - - it is a liquid diet. So far, so good. I have learned a lot from this website and so glad I found it.
  15. I am really new and really am interested in how everyone is doing with the lap band. Went to the surgeon today and am waiting for paperwork before scheduling my surgery. I am really excited about it but know that it is going to take work from me for it to be totally successful.
