How many fat grams per day?

Has anyone else heard from their dietician how many fat grams (or range) we should be having a day...or does it really matter if we are within our protein and calories. Thanks for all input.

Thanks, I have my first post-op appoint on Fri...so I can ask for sure then. But was curious what other people have been told.

i don't track it..then again i don't really track my calories either. i eat food with fat...i just make sure i stay in my portion size range so that i can still enjoy the things i love--reasonably. i just avoid bread (not crackers/crountons though) and pasta and rice. other than that i just try to eat as healthy as possible, but if i want a crab cake--i eat one. keeps me sane...but that's just me.

I talked to the dietician today and she said to not worry much about fat grams...but if i want to keep and eye on things then we should probably be between 20-30g a day. Just in case anyone else was wondering also.
