Surgery is tomorrow... Im starting to get scared...

Im starting to get nervous about my surgery tomorrow. I dont know why, really I know there is no reason, but I think its more excitement than anything. Any suggestions for what to expect from the surgery day, how did you feel, and did you go home the day you had surgery?

You will do fine. Congrats on your surgery. Keep us posted on your recovery.

Good Luck with your surgery today. I had my surgery on 8/13/08 I was home by 4pm that day. Honestly my surgery and recovery were very uneventful. I had VERY little pain at all. I was able to get up and around without any difficulty. That being said everybody is different. If you are in pain take your meds and remember that it is easier to treat mild pain then severe. So don't try to tough it out. Take your meds when you need them. Walk, Walk, Walk and then Walk some more. A heating pad can help when you are achy. And Drink, Drink, Drink. My thoughts and prayers are with you today. Chin up, your new life begins today!

Good luck with everything tomorrow. You will do fine. Just think, you will be well on your way to healing by the time I have mine on Monday.

Sending lots of hugs your way... :rolleyes2:

My doctor requires an over-night stay and I thought ithat was a good idea. Everyone has a different experience with their surgery and mine went very well....thank God! Yes, there was some pain and discomfort the first few days and you feel even more lousy because at the beginning you really don't get your usually good nights sleep but that will all pass and you'll see that the Lapband will be the BEST gift you can give to yourself. I wish you good luck with your surgery and the recovery...keep us posted!

Your day is finally here! Let us know how it goes. I'm sure you'll go great! Mine is mon and I'm getting more nervous/anxious/excited... I'm not sure. Just ready to start! Here's to speedy recovery!!!!! :rolleyes2:

* * * DON"T BE AFRAID TO ASK THEM FOR 'CALM DOWN' juice before you get to the OR.... lol...I wasn't nervous until I was in the Pre Op room...she offered it, I said YES!!! I was calm and smiling until I was knocked out in the OR!!!

GOOD LUCK!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

Oh.. I'm definitely going to ask for "calm-down juice".... I get nervous whenever I think of the actual surgery!

To the OP~ You're going to do fantastically!!! Keep us posted. =)
