  1. Lets just write how old we are, where we are living currently, like the city, and state, and then we can contact people privatly by messaging them if were interested. Cause with the people on here, its hard to tell who is single, who is not, and who is even interested in trying to date. Make sense... So I will start.. I am 28, I am a mom of 2 kids, I just got banded on the 24th of this month, I am about 5'9, and I live in the Portland, Oregon area. Open to a long term relationship. Contact me via private message...:wub::frown:

    Im in a rut!

I had surgery on September 24th, I since have been filled 2 times with a total of 5 cc's in a 10 cc band. I have no restriction right now, I could really eat WHATEVER I WANT as long as I eat it slow. I have gone down to 270, then I gained 4 pounds, and now, I dont even want to get on the scale. I will get another fill Monday, but I am starting to get worried, that I will never have that restriction that I was hoping to have, and that would continue to get me losing weight. I DO get food stuck, well, I used to, not anymore, because I learned not to eat fast, and drink while I eat. has anyone else been here, and can you give me motivation, or advice? Thanks in advance!
  3. I know I know, I am in the Men's Room... wouldnt be the first time I was in the mens room looking for a guy.. lol Kidding.. Anyways, I am just looking for someone maybe between 28 and 34 looking to chat, and see what could happen, I mean .. how exciting.. So, if you are single, going to get your band, or already banded, get ahold of me, lets see if we can be a support to one another.. I am getting banded on the 24th of the month.:frown::wub::frown::w00t::tt1::tt2:
  4. I was banded on Sept 24, and on my larger incision under my left breast, the incision started getting red splotchy patches around it, and its itching like crazy. I also see that one of the stitches is poking out, I can seel it. At first I thought it was the glue they put over the cut, but its not, its a stitch. Any suggestions... Thanks!
  5. Do you even have support going through this change from your wife/girlfriend/friend. Just wondering, and also, has losing the weight given you confidence to date if your single?

    Any suggestions?

I had surgery this last Wednesday, and today I went back to work, I felt like I was running all day long, BUT at the end of the day, and towards this evening, I have been feeling my area where the band is get hard like a contraction. All I had today was a slimfast for breakfast for protein, and some crackers because I felt like I was going to pass out, I also had a lemonade to drink as well. I used a straw. Whats the deal with straws, are we not suppose to drink from them? Anyways, any suggestions to whats up?
  9. I am getting banded by Dr. Cagle on the 24th of next month, and I am having to be on this milk diet for 3 weeks. I am wondering if anyone else has been banded by Dr. Cagle, and if anyone has fallen off the wagon while on the milk diet, and what kind if success did you have with it. Thanks
  10. I just got banded Wednesday, and my surgeon said that we need to realize that the tools they use in durgery really manipulate the skin, and the tissue underneath the skin. I too have a large cut under my left breast area, and it has a HUGE ball type feel to it. I was told its scar tissue, and to take it easy, not a lot of bending, and to use vaseline to help it not scar too badly. But realize our stomach area was manipulated in every which way, and quiet frankly, doctors just do their job, not really being easy on the skin, thats why when we wake up from surgery, we feel like a MAC truck has rolled over our tummy. So, call your doc and tell them how you feel, but thats what the post op visit is for as well, and they check those things out.

    Hello! Just got banded!

Hey congrats! Do you have some gnarley scars... how about your stomach does it seem swollen where the main incision was done? I posted some pics... from the surgery, and I was banded a day before you. Do you get the hiccups, or anything like that? I am on the protein drinks, and soups, and yogurts.... yummmmm... kidding.. I wonder, do you know how much your doc filled your band wth initially? I heard that out of surgery your band already had a little bit of liquid in it. Congrats!

Eating to soon after surgery ???

I was told by my surgeon that basically after the band is on, it is filled a little bit already. She doesnt think I will need a fill, but I most likely will get one. My surgeon had me eating yogurt without seeds, and tomato soup, and protein shakes the morning after surgery, because she needed to make sure that I could swallow and what not. I would say, if your hungry, eat a cracker, and make it really musy, or even eat an egg. I know its hard, but remember, its a short period of time before its too late, and express to your surgeon that look, your breastfeeding, and it takes a lot of energy for you to do so. Tell him or her that your feeling lightheaded or something to express the fact that this is really hard for you. I told my surgeon it was hard for me to be on a skim milk diet for 3 weeks prior to surgery, and she told me to eat a yogurt, or a cracker when I took my pills, I did and I still lost 19 pounds. So, hang in there, and were all here to support you.

    Surgery "war" wounds

Here are pictures of where the suregeon cut me, and where the nurse kept giving me the blood thinner shot IN THE SAME SPOT! Look at how black my bruise is.
  15. If you could have your insurance pay for either bypass or band.. which would YOU choose... the one where you lose the weight quickly, or the one where you lose it gradually... and you dont gain it back as you would with the bypass?
  16. Im starting to get nervous about my surgery tomorrow. I dont know why, really I know there is no reason, but I think its more excitement than anything. Any suggestions for what to expect from the surgery day, how did you feel, and did you go home the day you had surgery?
  17. I am pretty much doing this alone. EVERYONE in my family is stick thin, so they dont really understand about this, AND to make matters better, (see I dont say worse, because to me, its for the better) I am going through a divorce right now. So, having a bussy that understands what I am about to go through would be great!
  18. Im freaking out.. check your myspace, I left you a message.. I think the anxiety is getting to me... well... next week, my life is going to change, and a slow and steady pace... Im excited..... who knows.. maybe by next year, in the summertime, I wont be scared to wear a swimsuit, and go swimming!!!

  19. Thanks to everyone for their responses, and I know I have made the right decision, and I think the only reason why I asked was because Im getting anxious about getting banded next week... and everyone is right, less evasive, less hospital stay, reversable.. all those things are the things that I originally chose the band for in the first place. Thanks for all your support!
  20. Ok, so I have had to be on a skim milk diet for ALMOST 3 weeks now, and seriously, I cant help but eat, because I feel faint, or because my office has a standing order for pizza delivery EVERY TUESDAY... So, I eat, and fall off the wagon.. I feel like crap, but Im human and I dont believe skim milk and water is suppose to be enough.. anyways, anyone else having problems or had problems staying on your pre op diet, and for a long period of time for that matter? I have already lost 13 pounds though...
  21. Do I need to crush them, or take them like normal, and they wont get stuck in the band?
