Thanks, Wendy. I'm having trouble with the liquid medication now. It makes me really queasy and its supposed to be taken on an empty stomach. Pharmacist said to try taking it with applesauce. Its not working very well.

Ughhh!! Got my first pill stuck today! Guess that means I've got good restriction, huh? Well, guess what guys. I just found out today that I have Lyme Disease! It's in the early stages so I should completely recover. The doc put me on Doxycycline and the pills are about the size of an aspirin. The problem is I'm supposed to take them, twice a day, on an empty stomach. That's when the band is the tightest. I took the first one today with a lot of Water and it still got stuck. What awful pain! Now I can barely get down a cup of coffee. I'm going to try breaking the pill into 4 pieces tonight. If I'm still having trouble getting it down, I'll have to get the med in liquid form tomorrow.

I got a weird rash on Sat. with a red blotch on my leg. I didn't know that I got bit from a tick but I got so many mosquito bites in RI, I probably didn't notice one more bite. I probably got bit there. It can take a week to 10 days for the rash to appear. I was also feeling really lousy as if I had the flu. A friend suggested it could be Lyme and I was like "no way"! Went to the doc Tues and got a blood test. I feel like I dodged a bullet. If I ignored the symptoms and just assumed I had a virus like I thought, it would have gotten a lot worse and maybe caused permanent damage. Moral of the story - Never play doctor. Always have a doctor diagnose what's wrong with you. Anyway, this has been good for my diet. An irritated band and some nausea is always good for a few pounds!

Wow Cindy, you were lucky that you found it early enough. I didn't know what it is so I googled it. Good luck with getting better.

I can only ever say what everyone else has - good job on paying attention to yourself and catching it early on. Maybe try the medicine in very small sips, like any other liquid? Good luck, we are all thinking of you.

Thanks, guys! I tried taking the liquid in small sips and I'm not as queasy. Just really, really tired. I got an unfill today as its 10 days since my last fill of .25 and I was still getting stuck on everything. I was still getting hungry but had to mash up all my food and grease it with gravy or mayo. I think it will be easier to loose weight without adding all the extra calories to my meals. I think I'm at the sweet spot with 7.25 cc's. Hope so. Fills aren't working out too well for me anymore.

Yay! It's amazing how hard it is for me to think small. No matter what you're eating or drinking, you can always cut it in half.

I got an unfill today...

Hope that works out for you, Cindy. I know you've been uncomfortable.

I think it will be easier to loose weight without adding all the extra calories to my meals.

I enjoy a little olive oil mixed in with my meals - good Mediterranean flavor, less calories than gravy or Mayonnaise, tasty and a little grease on the wheels for the other end of the train track (TMI).

I think I'm at the sweet spot with 7.25 cc's. Hope so.

Me too! Go get 'em!

You know you have good restriction when you keep an empty coffee cup in your hand all the time... just in case! .... so you can spit in it while pretending to sip your drink.

You know, when I empty my spit cup into the sink, I have to run a lot of Water to clear the clog in the DRAIN. It's easy to see why it comes up out of us, rather than going down through our tiny stomachs. I think I could hang wallpaper with that stuff!

Great idea! I never thought of that and I love olive oil, especially extra-virgin. I'll try that!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
