  2. I just had a fill myself (3 cc in a 10 cc band). I am able to eat most foods as long as i chew, chew, chew... EXCEPT for red meats and white breads... If I toast the bread, I can eat it pretty easily. It is a learning process... but you'll get there! I am 4 years out and lost most of my weight, but I still have about 30 pounds to go (haven't worried too much about that after where I have come from).. but I have made a recommitment to get the rest off now.. good thing about the band.. it is a tool always there to fall back on, and it has kept me from having to gain any of my weight back........ A GOD sent! Good luck! Hope to see LESS of you soon!
  3. Well, time for another fill. Good thing about this journey.. you can always get back on track! Holidays are hard.. love that Egg Nog! lol! Hope all you guys are doing well. about 25 pounds to goal.. Hope to see "less of you" soon! God Bless!

  8. if you are from the South, grits... I like applesauce but am unable to eat ground beef... red meats are a no-no for me... when I am having trouble with everything else, though, I can go back to my Protein shakes.. trusty shakes.. you actually get to where you WANT them! lol
  9. I wouldn't worry. I have had this happen on a couple of occassions, and the next time I went back, it was correct. I am obliged to agree with your doc.. there are pockets and kinks and things in there where the fluid can sit, depending on your position at the time........ and those needles are so small with such minute settings, it would be easy for a doc to misread them also. keep up the fight.. you'll get there!

  11. Well, good news.... I finally found a doc closer to home that will accept me as a patient. It was a long drawn-out process to get approved because I had the band in Mexico, but I am soooo excited and looking forward to getting another fill and getting back on track. I am hoping my new insurance will pick up on the fills. Hope you all have a wonderful CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year! God Bless!
  12. With or without insurance, the band is the best thing I have ever done for myself! I am self pay and only regret I have is not having done it sooner! As always, it is a personal decision and you need to weigh the risks/benefits and do what is right for you! Good luck and God Bless!
  13. So sorry you are having probs! Best of luck with your new journey! keep in touch! I still have about 50 pounds to go, but I need another fill (and if you haven't heard) Fill Centers closed down. Have to go directly through the doc's office. Holding my own now, but I am looking forward to the time I can afford another fill. Good luck and God Bless!
  14. just don't give up! I too took a long time to start losing. I have had my band 3 years and have never regretted getting it, but it is a tool.. once you get restriction, you will start losing. I have about 50 pounds more to go and need a refill, but I am self pay and have to wait on funds. Just keep fighting the fight. It will happen! Good luck and hope to see "less of you" in the near future!
  15. So sorry for your struggles! Main thing is don't give up! Remember why you started this journey and re-commit yourself daily.! I too can and have sabatoged myself in the past and eaten around the band. I have lost 92 pounds but have plateaued before reaching my goal... but every day I try to start anew... Hope you get back on track! God Bless!
  16. Good for you! You go girl!
  17. I wouldn't get in too big a hurry to get more restriction... I went through the same thing a few months back. I had an "unfill" of about .5 cc and could eat anything right after.. but a week later, I found restriction again.... it really is strange.... my band is so fickle, can eat anything one day and nothing the next.. take a little "break" but be careful about over indulging... Good luck!
  18. No jena, You're not alone. I have always had the "slime" but I don't throw up every day. I walk when I get it and the food will eventually go down. I am glad you are doing better. Keep up the good work!
