Missing Fluid In Band??

Yesterday I went for my 5th fill. I had 6.1cc but my doc was only able to get 5.5cc.. She said I shouldn't worry and sometimes the saline sits in the bottom of the little pouches and next time If I go back and its less still then we will check it out..but I can't help but worry! She put .5cc in so that gives me 6.6 IF she was right and there is no leak...but if there is a leak that puts me at 6cc or even less!

Should I be worried or is that normal? I figure after this many fills and always pulling out the right amount of Fluid that it means something..but I just dont know.

Help!!!

Hi there. So I just went to my doctor for my 11th fill on Tuesday. I felt like I had very little restriction (and as far as I knew I had over 6 ccs in my band). When I got there I asked her to total up all my fills and she said I had a little under 8 ccs! I thought it was odd I had 8 ccs, but I felt more restricted back in December when I had fewer. She said she was only able to take out 4.4 ccs...and then she put one more in. She said if I don't feel restriction I am to call next week and they are going to do a test to check for leaks. Hopefully with both our situations, we will turn out ok! I would hate to have surgery again! Would love to hear from anyone else who has had a similar experience and what the outcome was.

Definitely! That is my exact fear-I really don't want to have surgery again, but I would if I had to.. hopefully it was a different position for the needle or something! Keep me updated!!

I wouldn't worry. I have had this happen on a couple of occassions, and the next time I went back, it was correct. I am obliged to agree with your doc.. there are pockets and kinks and things in there where the fluid can sit, depending on your position at the time........ and those needles are so small with such minute settings, it would be easy for a doc to misread them also. keep up the fight.. you'll get there!

got banded with my 14cc band nov. 09'... went for fills like i should have and last Dec. 11' i went for a fill. Felt like i really needed it.

I asked.... how much do i have in "tina" aka my band..... he said you should have 10.9.... i was like ok, that's what i thought also.

He stick in the needle and pulls out 10cc......im like .... were did my .9 go. he said some time over the years it evaporates.... i was like .. Really. So he put in .5cc.... now i'm back up to 10.5cc right.... wrong. Went back the next day because i felt no difference and in fact was very hungry. so he stick in and pulls out......10cc.....What? what the hell is going on.... he said... I don't know so he put in .5 again.

Two months later Feb 15, 2012 i have my Tummy tuck and guess what.... they have to pull it all out... so now i'm back to 0cc in my band... and i have to start over.

Today i ate my first slice of pizza with crust in two years.... OMG.... It was so freaking good. But, it to shall end... going get a fill as soon as my swelling goes down.
