Restriction but not losing

Recommended Posts

I had my 3rd fill in July but over the last month I have only lost 3 lbs but most of the time I feel like I have restriction. I do notice that I can eat more than when I originally had the fill but I am not feeling any hunger. I also have a tendency to get stuck every few days (don't always PB but sometimes I do).

Should I go for another fill? Have any of you experienced this and waited it out?

I already feel like I don't eat hardly anything and I'm worried that if I get another fill I will have alot more problem getting stuck.

I'm feeling a little depressed right now because I just spoke to the doctor at my visit in August and told him I was shooting for being 199 by January 1. It sure isn't going to happen if it takes a month to lose 3 lbs:frown:

I think the doctor will probably ask exactly what you are eating. Remember eating to little will but the body in starvation mode and there goes your weight loss. I haven't been great since my last fill but definately will watch how I am eating now. I am going to make more of an effort to plan my meals and prepare some in advance.

I agree with Sue. Honestly, you may not be eating enough. Are you logging your food intake on fitday or dailyplate? You may be surprised to find you are eating less than 1200 calories a day.

I do think that is part of it but I really do not feel any hunger at all. When I do PB it is always after I have not eaten in a long time. The doctor doesn't understand why that is happening but when I don't eat every 3 hours or so, when I do finally eat my stomach cramps up and I end up getting stuck.

It is just really hard to eat when you don't feel hungry. I really thought with this surgery food would no longer be my life, but it really still is about food. Now it is just making sure to get enough and the right things.

It also doesn't help that I work shift work and am constantly changing my sleep and eating habits.

Carli,

I can so sympathize with you and shift work. I work anywhere from 3am to 10am get of at 12 noon to 7pm. It is HELL on the body.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
